Is there a version of this that is deeper than 4"? I'm limited to ~6.5" in height, so I have to go with the "3U", not the "4U" size. BUT, the switch I have now is ~9.0" with the power cord plugged in. I'm not seeing ANY description of how deep this bracket is.
If all you're going to do is mount this, add a patch panel or two, and be done then it works great. If you have a fully laden patch panel on it and try to swing it out on the hinge just be aware that the whole mount will sag and you may even bend the metal if you're not careful. You basically have to hold up the one end of the patch panel as you swing it out to prevent the mount from warping. This is a pretty serious design flaw so just don't plan on using the hinge system.
@Monoprice, I would seriously recommend improving the strength of the hinge side of this mount so that it can actually be used without damaging the mount.
PROS: Easy mounting system. Fairly sturdy as a standalone unit, solid steel.
CONS: Hinge = bad design without additional structural reinforcement.
PROS: This product does exactly what it's supposed to do. Mounted to the wall effortlessly. I opted for big honking drywall anchors, instead of straight into studs, but regardless, it mounts easily, the hinge works great, and my patch panel is ready to roll!
