SpaceSaver 19" Half-U UTP Cat6 Horizontal 180° Patch Panel, 24 Ports, Dual IDC
As any system administrator knows, server rack space is expensive. Make the most out of your limited rack space by using this high-density, SpaceSaver 19" Half-U UTP Cat6 Horizontal 180° 24-port Patch Panel from Monoprice!
This half-shielded patch panel is designed for Category 6 UTP cable connections. It is rated for 500 MHz bandwidth and 1000 Mbps (Gigabit) data throughput. It features 24 RJ45 ports with Dual IDC headers situated 180° relative to the ports. The IDC headers are terminated using a 110-type punch down tool. The panel is compatible with 22-26 AWG solid or stranded solid-state and network cables. The panel includes color coded wiring diagrams for both T568A and T568B installations.
The patch panel measures 19" wide on the face and 17 1/4" wide on the body. It is 3 15/16" deep and 7/8" high. The frame features 24 C-shaped keyholes for cable strain relief. The packaging includes 24 3" zip ties, 2 rack mount screws, 2 plastic washers, 12 cable clamps, and 12 screws for the clamps.
Note: Over torquing the rack mount screws can cause damage to the mounting ears. The plastic washers are intended to be used with the rack mount screws to reduce the chance of over tightening the installation.

PROS: Great for populating more connectors in tight rack spaces. Front punching possible.
CONS: Plan carefully before you punch - very dense wiring.
There really isn't anything bad I can say about this thing. The metal seems very sturdy. There are screw down cable clamps under the cover and zip-tie spots for all the cables. I don't have any fear of cable strain using this or accidentally pulling the cables from the punch downs.
I chose the 180 deg model so I could use half the panel as a standard telephone patch. This was a great choice for this application because I could just lay a big section of Cat6 wire across the entire punch down without having to make any bends. Much nicer than my old setup with the 1U 12-port patch.

PROS: Small Form Factor
Punchdowns are marked clearly
CONS: Doesn't come with a punch down tool
I am not unhappy with the product. From what I've seen thus far, the punchdowns held up to 48 cable runs - and I really liked having the additional cable ties and brackets to support the punchdowns.
PROS: Individual zip tie points.
Shield clamps work as great strain relief.
1/2 U makes it great for getting 48 patches into a 1 U space.
CONS: Have to punch from top, making serviceability or cable additions impossible.
Need room for punch tool above patch panel (or below if you flip it upside down)
There are 12 modules, 2 jacks each, some were nice and tight to the circuit board and others I had to create a wedge in order to keep connectivity. At first I thought it was my punches but if I raised the front of the module I had full connectivity.
