    Need to provide non-compatibility info
I planned to install an eight-hole keystone panel for RJ45 connections in my comms closet so at first I ordered the standard no-tool RJ45 keystones (Product 310). After being told by a friend that these won't work in the eight-hole keystone panels (Product 6835), I reviewed the product description for the panel it says, "* Some keystone ports will not fit next to each other when using modular RCA flush type keystones, RJ12 and RJ45 keystone inserts." The description was not specific so I figured the slim punch-down keystone RJ45s (Product 10046) would work since the description said, "The Slim series of keystone modules are designed to fit comfortably side-by-side with other keystone modules in a wall plate, patch panel, or surface mount box." I found out the hard way after connectorizing 4 of the 8 connections that they do not fit in the panel side-by-side. If there are non-compatibilities between products then you should explicitly say on your website what will work and what won't, by product number. For example, you could have said in the description for 6835 that you do not offer an RJ45 product that will fit side-by-side in the panel and in the description for 10046 you could have said that the product will fit side-by-side in a panel but not in 6835. I am very frustrated at your product offering because it looks like I will have to go with an entirely different brand to get the 8-hole keystone to work with eight RJ45s. If you have an alternative for the 2-gang box please let me know. I am not the only customer indicating this problem to you in product reviews, etc so please correct the issue for future customers.

PROS: Easy to install professional look cheap

CONS: Product description is lacking sufficient detail to ensure customers buy compatible products.

DO NOT order as these are NOT SLIM

PROS: uh.. they are a great price and it ends there. They should have the word SLIM removed and item be put on clearance!

CONS: This item along with items 10040, 10041, 10042, 10043, 10044, 10045, 10046 and 10047 are NOT SLIM and will not fit SIDE by SIDE as advertised. These items are virtually and visually identical in width to their other Cat5 Keystones. My research today shows, Monoprice was notified and knew of this issue as early as 1/30/13 (see review item 10041) and acknowledged by representative John Lingo. This was almost 2 years ago! It was identified and acknowledged again by John Lingo on item 10042 review dated 5/6/14. What up Monoprice?

    Response from Monoprice
    Hello Andy,

Thank you for your review and truly sorry to hear about the issues experienced with these keystones. The “Slim” description for these keystones refers to the difference in width when compared to our regular Cat5e punch down keystones such as PID 5376. If I may ask, did you use one of our wall plates with these keystones? If so, what is the PID of the wall plate? I should mention that these keystones will not fit side-by-side in our wall plates that have 6 or more holes due to the limited spacing between each however they will fit with wall plates that have 4 or fewer holes. Please let me know so I can pass this info along to our product team. I will also put in a suggestion to have the descriptions revised. Apologies again for any inconvenience and hope this helps!

yeah, this is not slim at all
The keystone does not fit side-by-side in the 2-Gang Wall Plate for Keystone, 8 Hole - White PID 6835. Great for if you need to run just one of these or in a single gang. I waste a lot of time on my project because these are not as advertised. Sometimes its the smallest part that causes the biggest delay.

    PROS: Easy to wire up.

    CONS: These are not "slim".

I measured these with dial-calipers and compared them with the "Cat5E RJ-45 Toolless Keystone Jack" (1075). The "slim" jacks are 0.750" across, the "Toolless" jacks are ALSO 0.750" across.

Apart from the false advertising, these work ok, but there's no means to secure the jack to the cable besides the wires themselves. The tool-less jacks are better because you can easily zip-tie the cable to the jack, to secure it from tugging. These slim jacks have no provision for that.

PROS: They work, but not well.

CONS: Does not fit side-by-side into Monoprice's 8-hole, 2-gang Keystone wall plate.

The "Slim" designation is completely false. They are the exact same width as the jacks that are not marked "Slim".

Keystone jacks do not fit the keystone panel
These slim jacks are the ones they say to use in the keystone patch panels. They do not fit. I contacted customer service and they said it's a known fact that they don't fit.

    PROS: None

CONS: Incorrect information on web site when ordering they won't fit the keystone patch panels although they tell you to order these if using them in the patch panel.

Works as expected . . . sort of
I purchased this item because of the "slim" description. I needed to fit 8 of these into a 2-gang box and because of the "slim" name, I figured they would fit side-by-side into Monoprice's 8-hole, 2-gang Keystone wall plate. They did not. These are slimmer than the other Cat5e keystone jacks by just a teensy little bit. I ended up needing to purchase a pricier, 8-hole, 2-gang Keystone wall plate from a different company in order to fit 8 of these into one box. Other than that, the jacks worked fine so I can hardly give these a bad review. For functionality and price I give them a 10. The fact that they are "slim" but still not slim enough brought my total experience down to 8.

PROS: It works as a network connection when punched correctly. Really not much more to say here. Oh, it's inexpensive yet still effective. That's always a plus!

CONS: Still cannot fit side-by-side in Monoprice's 8 Hole, 2-Gang Keystone Wall Plate.

Like other reviews say, NOT SLIM
They don't seem to be any more slim than other jacks from Monoprice. Don't work well in the high density 1u panel or the 12 gang keystone jacks. Slim really should be taken out of the title for these.

PROS: They work (provided you ignore the slim part).

    CONS: Not slim.

still too wide for 6 port keystone wall plate
not slim enough, in a keystone wall plate they are at least 1mm too wide on both sides. If they were shaved a touch more they'd be great. but wiring them up is a snap...

    PROS: easy to work with

    CONS: not slim enough

I don't understand the point of having slim keystone jacks if they still don't fit next to each other on the panel. I got a panel with only 4 holes to ensure that there would be enough remove between the jacks but I was wrong. Otherwise, these work fine.

    Doesn't work with patch pannel
These are to wide to fit next to each other in a standard keystone patch pannel. You have to leave a blank space in between them.
