With the t adaptor, can I insert the male end in to the wall where my cable is coming in and insert Ethernet cables into the female ends and be able to watch cable on two different TVs?
    A shopper on Oct 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, if you find out where the far end of the cable in your wall eventually plugs into your router, and instead plug it in to the version of the T adaptor with one female port and two male plugs, and plug both male plugs into your router (so you need two free LAN ports in your router). Basically these T adaptors just allow you to use the "spare" wire pairs in your CAT5/6 cable to carry separate Ethernet connections.
Just wanted to clarify how this is used. It does NOT simply take one network jack and allow 2 computers to use it. Thus, you CANNOT use just one of these.

Network cables typically have 4 pairs of wires, only 2 of which are used. This simply allows you to use the other 2 unused pairs. You need one of these on EACH END. In effect, it would be the same as running two network cables. On each end, you would connect a two patch cords from your network switch to one splitter/combiner, then your independent devices plug into each of those on the other end. Make sense?

BEST ANSWER: Your analysis is correct and thus you answered your own question. That said, you will need to use 2 (two) in-line Ethernet couplings to connect these to either end on the of the single Ethernet cable that runs between the two splitters. Monoprice has these @ https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=7286 .

    Another solid cable
I had ran a cat5e cable to relocate my wireless router to a more centralized location in our house. I later had the need to also wire a desktop machine into one of the router's ports. I didn't want to run another cable, so this t-adapter did the job.

What you have to realize is that a 10/100 network connection uses only 2 pairs (4 wires) of the cable. Since there are 4 pairs (8 wires) in a cat5e cable, you can allow another network connection to run over the unused pairs. This is basically what the t-adapter does. One port uses the standard pairs, the other port uses the unused pairs.

I bought 2 of these t-adapters (1M/2F) to do the job. You can mix them (1M/2F and 2M/1F) or use 2 of the 2M/1F t-adapters. Just realize the wire connecting to the 1-port side is carrying the traffic of 2 separate connections and will need to be separated at the other end. There is no port saving with this, it just saves on cable runs.

PROS: Turns one cat5e cable run into 2

    CONS: Confusion as a splitter

    Buy this set.
    1. Add an overhead view of the device in the Large Images section.
    2. Improvements.
    a. A LARGER strain relief boot extending from the female end of the device.
    b. A. strain relief boot added to the modular plug.

I would like to know if a sturdier unit becomes available.

    PROS: Works as described.

    CONS: Device needs minor improvements.

I have this part Product 1107 (T Adapter Cat5e 1M/2F - 6 inch) on the receiving end out of my wall jack and Product 1106 (T Adapter Cat5e 2M/1F - 6 inch) connected to 2 ports on my router with my wall cable plugged into the 1106. I am using 1 jack form 1107 for my computer internet hookup and the other jack form 1107 for my Xbox360 with success.

Works perfect, flawlessly and is a heck of a lot easier than pulling more wires. Well pleased and can highly recommend this. Just don't forget you need both parts to use an existing single Cat5E wall cable wire for 2 separate hookups.

    T Adapter Cat5e 1M/2F - 6 inch
Product works great. I have 2 Roku players in 2 rooms on opposite side of house from my router and have only had one cat5 cable for years. When my son moved out and we made his bedroom another TV lounge I didn't want to run a new line, so this product filled the bill. I had bought something similar on amazon, that didn't work as advertised, so I was thrilled the the Monoprice product works so well.

Great item - just needs to be in stock more often
Bought these for the intended purpose and it works fine but there are two problems:
    -often out of stock
    -sold individually

Items 1106 and 1007 can ONLY work as a pair, so they should be sold as a pair and stocked as a pair. I currently bought two 1106 but won't be able to use them until 1107 is in stock (and pay shipping for another order).

great for eliminating additional run of cable
see my review for the opposite adapter. Get one of each.

PROS: eliminates need for running another cable

CONS: confuses some people who think it eliminates a port on the router
