I am using specifically for audio application. We need a small lit for emergency repairs. These days that includes a decent amount of computer based hardware. This provides us with a decent minimal kit that covers fixing XLR, instrument, and speaker cables, as well as tools for cracking into rack units and stage boxes. The tools are of acceptable quality for their intended purpose.
I already had most of these tools, but many were showing their age, or getting lost, or otherwise at or near the end of their service life.
The leather (pleather?)-bound case is attractive but not very functional for a shop environment. The nice thing here is I have all the tools I use regularly (and a few more that I don't) in a case designed to keep them and hold them in place so they don't get lost. It even has a little tube for all the extra screws, washers, nuts, and bolts I've been collecting over the years (never know when those might come in handy, right?).
I do wish it had some more tips for the multi-bit screwdriver, but I have plenty of those, too. It's also a little more difficult to pull some of the tools out of their place than I'd like, but I imagine the elastic will loosen over time.
For most PC/Laptop repair applications, this is going to work great.
I bought this kit primarily for the soldering iron, because it's surprisingly hard to find one at a cheap price. What I did not expect was the quality of the other tools. They feel solid and handle very nicely.
The tweezers, pliers, and wire cutters align perfectly, which I am very happy about. Great toolkit!
