Awesome tool. I've used it to cut and trim over 40 ends in one weekend while installing a security system at two car dealerships. Bunched 3 wires together and gave them a quick snip without any effort. The part I like most about them is when there locked there is still just enough gap in the blades that I could insert the center conductor and trim it to length before I'd slip on the BNC connector.
i just wanted some cheapo curved blade cutters (i like them for keeping individual cat5e strands together) and instead these high-quality, heavyish-duty were shipped to me. there must be a mistake, these are easily worth $20
I use it at work on a daily basis when replacing RG59/6 Connectors. I bought it back in 2010 and its still going strong. I was going to buy another but they are out of stock, and this one still works fine. Maybe next order.
The cutters work fine, but not perfectly. There was minimal deforming of the RG6Q (from Monoprice as well), but not enough as to damage the end product since that gets stripped away anyways. I would buy them again if needed, but I don't see why these wouldn't last for as long as I could possibly need them.
PROS: Cuts cable without issue Great value
CONS: Slightly deforms RG6Q (very slightly, not enough to be a problem)
Bought these to cut bog standard Belden 1694A, 1695A and 1855A HD video coax. Unfortunately, they crush the cable to about the same degree as a good pair of diagonal cutters. The cutter sections of my Ideal 'T-' strippers make a cleaner cut.
PROS: They were reasonably priced, so I didn't waste much money.
CONS: Performance no better than (and in some cases worse than) conventional straight cutters.
