Will this compress the shorter PPC ex6xl ends?
    A shopper on Mar 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don't know of "short" ex6xl? But perhaps you mean ex6 (18 mm compressed) connectors vs ex6xl (21 mm compressed)?

Anyway, I successfully installed many Monoprice branded ex6xlPlus connectors on Monoprice branded quad-shield RG-6 with this tool in it's out-of-the-box configuration. But checking the adjustability, it appears to me that you could easily adjust the tool to compress shorter connectors (i.e. 18mm compressed length)
Will this work for a right angle f connector?

solid quality compressor, but no instructions
The device itself is well made, and useful. My only complaint is that they don't provide any instructions about the adjustment knobs, or conversion pieces. If you don't want to spend the money to print instructions on the product, at least put them online at the product page. I am another person who also bought the recommended stripping tool to go with this, and it didn't have instructions either. If you are not someone that does this on a regular basis, it does take some experimenting to figure out how they work and adjust.

Works great adjustable for different connectors.
Very much like the Ideal Omniseal sold at home improvement stores for $60. This crimper differs from monoprices other similar looking tool in that the compression distance is adjustable over a large range. Compressed RG-6Q connectors perfectly.

    This thing is awesome!
No complaints, wish I would have bought this years ago. New house to me and didnt have coax or cat5 run through it. Running a full house of cabling and speaker wire, so decided to buy all the essential tools. Father in law is excited to fix all his old coax connections now that I have these tools. Also think its nice to have the option for BNC ends as I could run security camera cable, RCA compression fittings, etc. Lots of future uses as well. Im a took junkie, another great one for the electricians tool tote.

PROS: I was really impressed when I opened the package for this tool. Its simple, not a lot to it. I quickly figured out that the head rotates to allow BNC or F-connectors within a fraction of a second. Adjusting the seating depth might take a second to adjust, but still, it would be easy to adjust. I bought some f-connectors from Lowes, and terminated my first 6 cables and couldnt be happier. I used the gray monoprice HT-322 cable stripper on quad shield cable, and had these ends terminated quick as a flash. Cant wait until I get the rest of the cables run. PS, went to Lowes for some F-connectors, and while I was there I looked at the tools they had, and they were complete junk, most of which were in the $40 price range. One crimper looked like a cheap pair of pliers...

CONS: None so far, very pleased. I have wanted one of these for years, and was glad I finally spent the $20 for one.

    Works Fine
The tool works fine and seems to be a good value. Monoprice should write instructions for adjusting the tools they sell and post them on-line for download.

PROS: Tool makes quality compression crimp and it feels well built.

CONS: The tool came with no adjustment instructions.

    Strong but limited in application
Based on other reviews, this unit works fine with other brand F-type compression connectors. Barrel length should be greater than 1" in order to get a proper 18mm compression. Only caution is in knowing what your application is. What would have helped was a deeper description on the web site of what size connectors could be used with this tool. Only purchase I have ever returned to Monoprice!

PROS: Unit appears well built for its intended application.

CONS: Will not properly compress TRS-6LMG F-type connectors. The throw length while adjustable is still too short for these popular connectors.

    Works great
I've only used this for a few cables, but it works great, and makes a nice tight seal. I'm using male F connectors monoprice 2971, and standard RG6 single shield cable.

    Works for industry grade crimping
Purchased this product with the "3360 Coaxial Cable Stripper [HT-332]" and the work great for coax terminating. Have worked as a network technician and find these tools to work like any coax terminating tools that were ten times the price.

PROS: Works with plastic and metal sleeve compression connectors. (Used Shaw Cable metal F Connectors).
Easily fits in a tool bag/pouch.
    Works for RG6 and RG11
Simple design should allow for long life.

    Works Well
Used this tool on compression F-connectors on RG6 Quad Shield and RG11 Quad Shield cabling. The RG6 connectors were made by Ideal and RG11 connectors were F-Com. Both brands compressed nicely and tightly with this tool. It was convenient not having to buy a separate compression tool for RG11.

    works great!
I purchased this item to terminate quad shield coax cable with quad shield F connectors. I needed to adjust the knob just a tiny bit to make the connection perfectly tight. The tool works great!

I also purchased the Coaxial Cable Stripper [HT-332] with this item, an it also works great. My use is just for running my own lines around the house, so I think these tools are perfect for occasional use.

PROS: Easy to use. Only needed a very minor adjustment out of the box.

CONS: The tool is very floppy, so I would not leave it in your tool box. I kept mine in its packaging to protect it from being possibly damaged.
