is there a driver i can download and put on a usb? because the cdrom will not go into my computer.
    A shopper on Jul 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: There's a link on the CD that takes you to Realteks website but if you search on Google for "RTL8812AU/RTL8811AU/RTL8192EU/RTL8812BU/RTL8811CU/RTL8814AU driver" it'll take you the driver download site from realtek and give you a zip file. Unzip and manually install the driver for your operating system.

    Doesn't work
Severe driver problems with Win 10 build 15031.rs2. Continual connectivity problems. Numerous attempts to find compatible driver have failed. Supplied driver caused pc reboot.

Worked great for the first 4 months
Worked great for the first 4 months - now it intermittently loses connection completely - and I have to either press the reset(?) button or unplug/plug back in for it to work... then functions normally until the next time it cuts out again.

    When it works its fantastic.

    Not Operational
I must have received a dud. After installing the software and plugging in the adapter, the adapter did not light up, make noise, or become accessible to my laptop. I had high hopes for this rather large thumb drive adapter but was sadly unable to use it.

CONS: Wish it worked out of the box.

    Great so far
Pros: worked straight out of the box on win 8.1 pc. Fast connection of around 860Mbps when connected to my ASUS RT-AC56U router. Has no problem transferring files on my LAN at the maximum speed of the drives and seems great for streaming live 1080 TV from my TV tuner/server pc.

Cons: It is huge, a little under 3.5" not including the usb 3.0 connector.
The activity LED is huge and while not blindingly bright it would be very distracting in a dark room.

I have only at this point owned it less than a month (today is June 5th 2018) and most other reviews are about failures after a few months. If I also get a failure I will update this review (or create another if I am unable to edit).

So far I am very pleased with this $20 adapter that would have cost $150 as a PCIe card.

Worked for a few months, now disconnects constantly
Like another reviewer, mine worked fine for a few months and is now having connectivity issues where I have to unplug and plug it back in for it to work. I suspect it might be a driver issue due to a Windows 10 update, but without a newer driver to correct the possible issue, we can't really do anything. It might be a hardware issue, but I do not have a machine using an older version of Windows, so I cannot test.
