I've installed the software but my computer won't recognize the hardware (adapter). My OS is Windows 8. Any ideas? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

BEST ANSWER: I have installed this on Windows XP and 7 Professional systems, with no issues. Maybe browse for the install program from the Netis file? The adapter works fine, maybe a different USB port?

Cheapest, lowest-hassle way of getting basic wifi functionality I've seen
From what I can tell, this thing is plug and play 2.4 GHz 802.11n with no fuss. It doesn't do 5 GHz, it doesn't do other modes, and it's nothing fancy, but it's absolutely tiny, it's $6, and it gives you working wifi. I didn't even need to install the provided driver (though I went on the website and installed it anyway, just to check out the utility and see if it added any functionality).

I got exactly what I expected and I have no complaints.

    Plug n' Play for Linux
I've been looking for a cheap (*cheap*) wireless adapter that works on Linux (Ubuntu, Lubuntu, Mint, etc.).

I plugged it in. It works! 'Nuff said.

    Very good
Price and size are its best features. Speed is questionable.

    Some worked Some didn't
The ones that worked served the purpose. Could conflict with on board drivers beware.
