Will this fit in a 2x4 wall? The dimensions don't seem to support.
    David D on Feb 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The space required from the receptacle side must be 3" from the stud but no more than 5". This item is designed for retrofit work only. I would recommend double checking the measurements you have in your wall.
Will this fit in a 2x4 wall? The dimension shows to be 4.5" deep. A 2x4 is only 3.5" deep.

perfect for ultra slim mount on samsung led right angle
The other reviewer said this item was "bulky". These boxes are not meant for installation on wallboard over masonry where you may have just one or two inches. but if you have standard 2x4 studs at 3 1/2" nominal depth there is no space problem with this box.

I actually tried an expensive powerbridge, supposed made especially for samsung LEDs (I have a 46" 6000, which is the same rear config as 42 to 60" 6000, 7000 and 8000 sammys). the powerbridge, even behind a recessed part of the TV, and even supposed especially for samsung leds pushed out the TV. This unit did not. Yes, I had to run some romex from a nearby outlet, but that was no harder than running romex from powerbrideges male inlet.

Combined with the monoprice ultraflush mount my TV is 1.70" from the front of the TV to the wall. That is actually a quarter inch less than the 2" using samsungs $250 mount and the $75 power bridge people on avs obtain :)

PROS: works perfect with samsung right angle

CONS: large but no deeper than standard blue boxes

It is a big cutout but, works well
Had contractor install into a side wall of a recessed cabinet that he built. Back of cabinet went into a closet on the other side of wall. Cables (4 HDMI, 1 optical audio, and power) all went well. It is a large cutout into the drywall but, was helpful in getting all of the cables through the wall and into the new cabinet area.

PROS: Does exactly what it is supposed to do

    CONS: Large cutout

    Solid Construction, Easy installation
Overall, this is a great product. Installs easily. As some other reviewers have noted, the box is big. The space you have to cut is just over 7" x 7". Installation is easy as they provide a template for the hole size. I was able to impress the wife as she said it looked like a "professional" did it.

PROS: Very solid construction. Easy to install. Metal tabs hold the box in place very well. Give a "professional" installed look.

CONS: Very big. They could have made the entire box a bit smaller.

    Got what I paid for
I purchased two of these and they both worked wonder. Took 5 minutes to install. Installs these were definitely the easiest process of mounting my tvs.

PROS: Easy to install, only 3 pre-assembled pieces

    Very nice product
I wanted to have an outlet that was recessed in the wall but the cost was expensive at the big box stores, almost 50 bucks. This product is high quality at a great price. I had to install it sideways since the 2x4's were so close together but it still works great!

    PROS: Well made

    Great fit

    Easy Install

    really liked it
First time I've hung a TV on the wall with hidden wires, so maybe I'm easily impressed, but this product worked well. Wired the socket to another, ran the HDMI's through the low voltage part.

Downside - with this mechanism the TV is not plugged to the same surge protector as the rest of the equipment. Plus-side is it's within code... Make your own choices, I guess.

    Great for home theater
I bought a couple of these for a home theater setup - I debated this vs. dedicated jacks, but this was cheaper, easier to install, and gave me flexibility for what sort of cables I was running (and options for future expansion), vs installing a jack for each HDMI, VGA, optical line etc. I fit a lot in this - 2 HDMI, Coax, Component, Optical audio, 3 Cat6 ethernet, and some RCA for audio. It installed very easily, and looks great.

    PROS: -Affordable
    -Flexible
    -Looks Great
    -Easy to install

CONS: I'm not super experienced on this stuff, but found the instructions simple and intuitive, and there's even a paper template to make cutting your hole easy.

    Nice product
i do like this and it is offered with a Surge protection for that expensive tv ??, my only complaint would be it's so darn large... with a mount and that it's just hidden by a sixty five inch tv.
