I couldn't resist these "Y" adapters for under 50¢ a piece. They seem to work fine, but im don't think they are very durable. I haven't used them long enough to test how long I think they'll last. I figure having 3 on hand, will cover me in case one does fail.
PROS: They work.
CONS: They are light as a feather, and the 1/4" phone jack turns with very little force.
More fragile than an egg. I ordered 6 of these. One fell apart as I was trying to take it out of the plastic. Another crumbled to pieces after the cable that was plugged into it was gently moved. I am afraid to touch the other 4.
Had one of these fall apart on me. These are made from a two piece plastic shell, rather than solid moulded plastic that I am more used to seeing. The weight of the premium RCA cable (3 feet hanging) was enough to break it open messing up a live audio event.
PROS: Inexpensive and nice for low stress applications
