I bought 7 and 5 worked okay. The two bad ones were shorted internally somewhere. I tested the suspect ones and found there to be only 0.04 ohms between the tip and shield. It was a rather obvious point of failure which was introducing hum and triggering the protect mode of the amps. Aside from that issue I found that these fitted quite tightly, almost too tight, onto the RCA fittings upon initial connection and thereafter failed to rebound and became quite loose fitting. If these were to be used in a PA setting they would be total junk as they would be required to be repeatedly plugged into and out of the connectors and would fail to maintain a positive connection after just a few cycles. I only removed mine twice to determine the point of signal failure and they are now loose in their connection with the RCA receptacle's. I would definitely not buy these again.

    PROS: look nice

CONS: some came shorted out which cause issues

    Sleeve and tip not secured
Decided on these for some studio connections between consumer audio devices and my DAW.

When they arrived, I grabbed a 1/4 in cable to test them. I found that the tip was not very securely attached to the sleeve. As with any person, I held the adapter on the sleeve (designed for grip) and pushed the 1/4 in cable into the adapter. As I did, the tip disconnected from the sleeve. I was able to push it back into place, and try again, this time holding the tip to keep it in place. It worked, but the adapter felt loosely connected. It still spun around and wobbled on the 1/4 in jack quite easily.

I was hoping to use this type of cable as I already have shielded cables which would work better than RCA cables, but it looks like I'll have to switch to the female RCA to male 1/4 in jack type adapter.

    PROS: Materials, Cost

    CONS: Build, Connection
