I have a question how do you determine the size of these meaning how do you measure this to find out the correct size you need because I have one of these but the headphones cable keeps coming out of the jack adapter when plugged into my receiver?
I ordered 5 of these they are all the same way so I didn't just get a bad one.
I love most things from monoprice, but this need to be tossed out and redesigned. I went to Radio Shack and bought the 5 adapters I needed. Those from the Shack had a nice tight fit and my previous one from the Shack has lasted for over 5 years.
CONS: Shorter than a standard 1/4 in jack by a few mm. The contacts on the inside are junk. Super lose, must be thin. Doesn't hold the headphones in for good contact at all. It's really bad.
A 3.5mm plus wont even stay in let alone straight. I was using this in a adapater cable and it had headphones plugged in and the adapater fell off the stand and this adapter flat out broke. Put in a radio shack adapater and it happened again and stayed together.
Thank you for your review and my apologies for the issues you have experienced with PID 7169. Unfortunately, it sounds like you may have received a defective product. Now if you'd like, I can help setup an RMA for a replacement. If you would like me to proceed with the RMA, all I would need is the order # this adapter is under. Sorry again for the trouble and thanks in advance!

Monoprice can do better!
I bought this to use with PID 650 25ft 3.5mm Stereo Plug/Jack M/F Cable - Black After only 2 or 3 uses, the inside of the adapter became loose and the extension cable or any other 3.5mm headphones either fall out or lose sound. I have to twist and support whatever is plugged into it to get stereo sound. I love Monoprice and this is the first time of many, many orders that I've been let down. It was only 42 cents though, so it won't effect my trust in the brand!
PROS: Gold Plated, Inexpensive.
CONS: 3.5mm female side becomes loose after a couple uses.
the cable i plugged into this adapter had to go in at an angle. and then this adapter doesn't hold the 3.5mm jack plugged into it very firmly. within a few times of plugging the adapter on a cable and unplugging it, the adapter no longer holds on to the 3.5mm jack so it became useless as the cable would fall out of it. what happened to monoprice quality?
PROS: looks decently made
CONS: poor quality, stopped working within trying a few times on a 3.5 monoprice cable that was just as cheaply made
PROS: It appears very solidly built and is gold plated all the way around, and seems heavier than other cheap products from other sites. Both sides seem to fit well and the jacks wont accidentally slide out.
