Not extended Desktop, Use Matrox for Extending your Desktop
Looks cool but wanted to mention for Extending your Display you should use something like a Matrox product they make a Dual Head to go (http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/dh2go/digital_se/) and a Triple head to go product (http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/th2go/displayport/). But for just cloning this product seems great.

Please add in the description that it doesn't not extend display
Was greatly disappointed to receive converter and it only mirrored the external display. This needs to be stated in the description because I think a lot of people will be looking for something like this to attach 2 displays to extend their desktop.

Although I do have to say that the picture and refresh rate looked much better than my USB to HDMI converter.

    PROS: Displays look great

CONS: Does not extend, only mirrors

Displays same image on both output monitors
    Caveat Emptor!

I read the first couple reviews which complained that the device failed. Decided it was worth a shot anyways. I plugged this into my computer and my two monitors, and realized it was showing up on the computer as a single monitor, meaning both monitors were mirroring the same output. Super frustrating. Monoprice, please put this incredibly important information in the description! I'm keeping the device so I can have digital output from my DisplayPort (was formerly using DisplayPort - VGA adapter I get better resolution this way) but c'mon, this is a letdown.

    PROS: Digital output.

CONS: Displays same image on both output monitors when this is not made clear in the description.

Amazon description doesn't say mirror only, no extend
Don't buy if you want to extend desktop across two monitors. This device only mirrors across two monitors.

PROS: Turns on. Adapts mini-DV to HDMI.

CONS: Bought on Amazonand the product description does not clearly say (perhaps doesn't say at all?) that this device does not extend desktop across two monitorsit can only mirror. I feel gypped and will seek a refund. User comments and user questions tell more about the product's limits than the actual description.

    Did not work, period.
I tried extending, mirroring, everything in the book. Multiple computers, multiple cards and (obviously) 2 different output display's I could not get a samsung TV or a samsung monitor to handshake with this thing. Giving up.

    PROS: Cheap

CONS: Didn't work with pc or mac in combination with samsung TV or monitor.

10 for mirroring screen. Does not extend screen

    PROS: Mirrors Screen

    CONS: Does not extend screen

This is a splitter that mirrors a single display only.
I gave this a 5. It might get much higher for a splitter/signal repeater. But it gets a big fat zero fail for what it appeared to be from the description at the time I purchased it. This is NOT a device that allows a normal multi-monitor setup with different apps on different screens.

PROS: This is a splitter that mirrors a single display only. If that is what you want, it seemed to work well for the five minutes that I was like "WTF, really?!?"

CONS: The description on the website does not make it clear that this is a splitter that mirrors and repeats a single display output only.

Trust the numerous reviews, this unit doesn't work
See cons, those are the only things you need to know about this unit.

PROS: None, this unit, as mentioned by others does not work.

CONS: Though I saw half the reviews were very bad, I took a shot and wasted a week's worth of monitor down time and $50. The unit never worked at all, we tried two brand new cables (which worked perfectly with other devices), and a different power supply, the light is on but it's a dead unit. Never worked at all.

Come on Monoprice, pull this product. With this many issues, at best, this needs a ground up re-work. The money isn't really the issue, the real problem is time. I now have to box this thing back up and send it for a refund, and now get to start figuring out how to fix my monitor issue so we can resume working without having to switch back and forth between screens.

Frustrating when a good company allows this kind of quality control issue, you know it's a problematic unit, pull it till it can be fixed.

    Straight up does not work
As most of the other reviews already state, the unit I received just does not work. It might as well be an empty box. Unfortunately for me I waited until after my warranty expired before using it, but it's baffling to me that monoprice continues to offer this product for sale when it has glaring quality issues.

    PROS: lol

CONS: It's a useless black box.

    It does not work
Do not buy this piece of garbage, you will retreat the waste of time and your money

PROS: I don't know pros, since i installed the power supply was burned, then I replaced that and never work properly

    CONS: Burns burns and burns
