Mini DisplayPort 1.1 to DVI Adapter - White

Connect your mini DisplayPort equipped MacBook®, laptop, or PC to a DVI display using this Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter from Monoprice.

This is a passive adapter, which requires no additional power. It converts the mini DisplayPort video signal to a DVI video signal. Note that this is not bidirectional and therefore will NOT convert DVI video to mini DisplayPort. Also note that this does not support audio.

Note: This is a passive adapter and is therefore NOT suitable for AMD® Eyefinity installations. An active adapter, such as PID 5135, is required for Eyefinity setups.

    Mostly okay
It is working, but the apple cord works 100% of the time, but with this monoprice cable, my DELL DVI monitor will turn off for about a second every so often (~5-10 times a day). Seems to happen when switching between applications and such. I would say it is still okay to buy, but don't expect the same quality as an apple cord.

PROS: Cheap. Works most of the time

CONS: Screen turns off briefly every so often

    Works Great!
This cable worked without any problem on my macbook air.

    PROS: Worked as advertised

CONS: Cable is a bit stiff

    Just works
    5/5

PROS: Just works. Feels like plastic built but hey, does its job!

If you expect to use this with DVI-VGA adapter, this may not be game. You will have to buy Thunderbolt to VGA adapter.

Save your money and get this, instead of the much more expensive branded one. I have used one of these for 1.5 years and it still works like new. Highly recommended!

    PROS: Solid, Works Great, Inexpensive

    CONS: none

    Perfect
If you want "thunderbolt" to DVI, this should be your only choice.

    PROS: Plug and play
    got it super fast
    matches well enough
like, way the hell cheaper than the Apple one

    CONS: ??

Works flawlessly but read on for suggestion
The cable to the adapter is quite short (as is the Apple version). If you mount your macbook pro on one of the stands like I do, then you'll find that the adapter doesn't reach the desk and kind of hangs there in 'limbo'. Many of the DVI cables are quite thick and heavy like mine, which concerns me with the stress on the thunderbolt port. I shall be looking for a thunderbolt cable extension to alleviate that, though I haven't found one yet...

    PROS: Does what it says.

CONS: not really any cons, but see above for my issues...

    Like a Boss.
    This connector is the boss.

PROS: This connector allows me to work on a second monitor like a boss. It sends those pixels right on through, like a boss. It costs much less than the Apple connector, but does the same exact thing (you guessed it), like a boss.

    This connector is the boss.

    CONS: None

    Just Works
Plug it in and go. Works great with my unibody 2009 MacBook Pro. There's no reason to purchase the official apple gear unless you want the logo on the cable.

My Mac mini can't tell the difference
I'm running dual monitors again, hooray! Two 22" LCDs from a single mac mini. The monoprice mini displayport to DVI adapter has been working great for a couple of months now. I'm impressed. Would recommend to anyone who doesn't want to spend what, 30 dollars on Apple's version of the same cable?

PROS: Cheaper than Apple's version, performs as advertised. What's not to like?

CONS: Had to wait for it to come in the mail. Honestly, that's the only con.

    Noise
Works perfectly at 1680x1050, but when I go up to 1900x1200 I get a substantial amount of noise in the darker areas of the picture.
