This toslink connector has worked well for my in-wall wire run. Seems to be well constructed, clipped into the keystone plate well. Time will tell if it holds up, but it's not a high-use item. Overall five star for price, quality, and fit.
the toslink cables sold on Monoprice only fit into one side of the coupler. They do not fit into the recessed side because the rectangle end of the cable is too large to fit into the recess gap. I had to go to Fry's Electronics to get cables that fit. So just FYI, in summary, the coupler is great and fits just fine into the wall plate (I used the 6 port ones), but the Monoprice toslink cables will only fit into one side of this coupler, so be prepared to buy a cable elsewhere for the other side...
I'm a professional audio video installer. Snap in keystones like this toslink coupler keep my AV closets organized and manageable, Hanging wires and cables out of a hole in the wall is just wrong. Its the little details like this that count
This jack is functional but not perfect. The recessed end is too narrow to connect to Monoprice's own Premium S/PDIF cable (the square end/braided cable one). Also, the flange on the back interferes with neighboring Keystone jacks in high-density plates (I'm using it in a 6x Decora plate). I was able to use a different cable and trim the flange, but even then it's not exactly pretty.
PROS: Audio works fine
CONS: Deep round jack doesn't work with Monoprice's Premium cables Rear flange impacts neighboring Keystone jacks in tight plates Pretty ugly regardless
I purchased this along with 7 other itmes to clean up my friend TV installation. this equipment would have cost them over $100. before install. I Purchased everything here for around $30 including shipping.
