Hello I was wondering if this product # 8009 would work with a new 4 k tv .?? I think its only good for 1080p ??? thanks
    A shopper on Jan 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hello, thank you for your question. This unit is not 4K compatible and is only able to support the following resolutions as listed on the description 1080p/1080i/720p/576p/576i/480p/480i.
I only have one Cat5 cable. Will this work with one single cable? ie: from Out1 to Out1?
    Phil H on Jan 1, 2018

No it will require to Cat 5 cables, The system works well with two cables, if you have a coaxial cable there are boxes now that allow IR over this cable type. I use bot with not issues.
Could I use this in place of 30' HDMI cable from the CPU to the monitor? I will be running it under the floor, but using wireless mouse and keyboard with the monitor (CPU and monitor would actually be separated by 12').

BEST ANSWER: That's basically the intent. I have a set of these at home for my projector, and we use them in our conference rooms at work. We can easily run cat5/6 connections, but running an already terminated HDMI takes bigger holes that we don't want to cut.
Does it require that input 1 go to output 1 and input2 go to output 2 ? will it work if they are crossed ?
    A shopper on Sep 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: They need to be matches up correctly to work.
I am unable to transmit a video signal from my receiver to a projector connecting using the HDMI® Over CAT5E / CAT6 Extender Wall Plate. If I connect a blu-ray or fire TV to this same set up without the receiver as the video pass through the video displays, but when I connect the blu-ray or fire tv to the receiver and send the receiver HDMI video out through these extenders to my projector the video does not work as my projector says it can't find the signal. What might be the issue?
    A shopper on Jul 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I had this issue when switching Video sources. Seems like all players are not created equally. A powered inline HDMI signal booster solved my issues.
Will this support multiple computer resolutions up to 1920x1080 or only HD video signals?
    A shopper on Jun 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. It would be able to support 1920x1080 resolutions. As for the in-between resolutions that computers can reach this would be fixed at TV resolutions.
Does this product support ARC? I have a pair of these installed and can't seem to get ARC working back from the TV to the receiver. I works fine from the receiver to the TV, however.
    New User U on Feb 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. This HDMI extender unfortunately would not support ARC. We would not carry an HDMI extender that would support ARC.
Does this unit support 3D Signal and HDCP, EDID and DDC?
    New User U on Nov 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hello, this item does indeed support 3D signals, HDCP, EDID and DDC. I hope that answers your question, thank you!
Will it work with cat 7 shielded cable to support hdmi connections for video?

    HDMI over distances
I have bought powered extenders in the past and had mixed results with them. I have now bought a total of 80 of these little beauties. 22 cat5e or Cat6 cables of equal length (that's the secret), clean install and you can run HDMI over 100' with ease. Mine are between 35-125' running 80" televisions and Smart boards in a school. Not a single issue. I even went back and purchases 60 of the USB extenders for the smart boards with no issues.

I have spent $200.00 to do this previously with a powered solution and have to hide the box somewhere. Now I do the same thing for pennies and no hiding a box behind the displays anymore.

PROS: This thing just works, stupid proof if you can terminate a cable. If you can't buy patch cords and you are done

Good, but a problem or two
We're using this in my house to run all of our gaming systems through one port to a projector. The first major hurdle we ran into was that the PS4 didn't want to give power to it. So we had to buy a 1 to 2 HDMI splitter that was powered to fix that issue. After that it worked just great, but if I were doing the set up again from the beginning I would get one of Monoprice's HDMI extenders that has its own power supplies.

PROS: Great price and does work reasonably well

CONS: Some power problems with a couple of devices

    Hdmi over cat5e
I have used this unit in multiple installations perfectly. I find it HDMI is no good over 30 feet on many of the new TVs & components so I use this to do long runs. You need to run to cat 5e or use cat 6 for even longer runs. If you want to use the IR repeater get the other model that incorporates the IR repeating function in the wall plate

PROS: Works perfect in multiple installations to date
    Quality construction
    Easy to use

CONS: Rear of unit does not fit orange Carlton low voltage rework plate..use black larger one

I bought these for a project at work. I tested one at 150' with a DVD to a HDTV, there is no difference than using a 6' HDMI cable.

Be careful to keep both pieces of Cat5 or 6 the same length. I read that in a previous review and tried it with an extra 3 feet on 1 cable. There was a sync issue until I cut the 2 pieces equally and then it was beautiful again.

    PROS: Inexpensive
    It works

    Good product, but one flaw
Good product other than the Con I mentioned above. Can't fault the device or Monoprice for that since it's inherent to this class of device.

    PROS: Great HD picture transmission!

CONS: Like other products of this type, if you have it close to power lines and have a earth leak in your system like I apparently do, switching off the lights in the kitchen will cause the transmission to flicker for 1-2 seconds.

works with product 9964 (Dual Band IR)
i installed this product with Product 9964 in order to control my U-verse box from another location. i wanted to get the results of product 8008 but with dual channel IR. so far i have not had any issues. i have only tested my Uverse box with both 720P and 1080I (no 1080P option on my uverse box). picture is perfect, and the IR control has been flawless for me. Hope this review helps someone that is looking for a dual band solution to product 8008.

PROS: easy to install. read the other reviews and product details so you know what type of ethernet cables and HDMI cables should be used

CONS: the red LED is a bit bright but a small piece of tape quickly fixes that.

    Great product

PROS: Worked perfectly over 70ft of Cat6 UTP with ordinary RJ-45 plugs. I get 1080p video.

CONS: The unit is slightly too large to fit in an old-work junction box I had to shave 1/16" from the top and bottom to make it fit.

    Great product
I'm not one that usually reviews products, but I'm so happy with these that I thought I would share. I had previously purchased the Monoprice PID 6584 and was very happy with it so I was disappointed to see that same product not come back into stock. Well I'm happy to say that the new version works just as good and it allows you to unscrew the Decora style cover. I purchased 2 more pair of these which are feeding 3 different brands of TV's. I took a chance with using some existing CAT5E and I have not seen any issues. 35ft, 40ft, and 75ft cable runs. All are working perfectly.

The only problem I have found is that they don't fit in certain brands of wall brackets. As suggested by another reviewer of the PID 6584, I have purchased the Legrande lime green wall brackets and they fit perfect in these.

    Very happy with this purchase.

PROS: Great performance, great price, good construction.

CONS: Don't fit in some low voltage wall brackets

HDMI using CAT5E cable for long runs
Great product and you can not beat the price. I would never consider buying 50 foot HDMI cables even if you can.

PROS: Well the product works exactly as it says. If you have your DVD player or DVR or other equipment located in a different room from your tv this is a perfect fix. I have located my equipment about 50 feet away used CAT5E cable and the quality is equal to HDMI

CONS: The way the jack works is you have to run two CAT5E cables, which is not big deal but you better know this if you are in a roughin state and think that one cable will work.

    Not 1.4 compatible
The HDMI compatibility level is not listed in the specs, you have to open the instructions to read that part

    PROS: Easy install

    CONS: Does not support ARC
