Does anyone know if this will work with a 4k cable?
    A shopper on Aug 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Short Answer : Yes
Long answer: It will completely depend on various factors such as lengths of cables, types of cables, and ultimately the types of components used.
This passive adapter is not rated for a speed as it simply connects two cables together.
Can this be used with an Active HDMI cable?
    Michael W on Feb 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It works with the following active cable: Select Active Series High Speed HDMI® Cable w/ RedMere®
Technology, 25ft. I predict it would work with other active cables but have only used this one.

I also used a 10 ft high speed HDMI cable (not active) on the other side to connect to a TV.
Does this wall plate support HDR?
    Jayandan P on Jun 25, 2018
what is the total behind-the-wall depth? I realize that the adapter flexes, but there is a portion that does not which is attached directly to the plate.
    Justin J on Mar 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: About 2.5 inches of depth inside the wall is sufficient.

Not bad.. great for the price
Overall i like this plate but i am using the 22 AWG HDMI so it was a bit tricky getting it to sit right in the wall with the fat cable.. but with a bit of fumbling it worked out.. happy with the final look.

I'd suggest if your NOT moving your devices often (like a blu-Ray or satellite) to just run the HDMI right into your device and avoid this extra connection.. if you just want a spare port on ur wall for laptops or cameras this product works well.

    PROS: clean look

CONS: cheap feel.. HDMI port can come loose handled rough during install.

    HDMI Wall Plate
I always come to Monoprice first for my home audio needs. These HDMI wall plates replaced the hole in the wall where my HDMI cable protruded. While this cleaned up the area, it also didn't take away from my current setup. It merely enhanced everything.

PROS: Great price! Quick shipment and it was a breeze to install. The parts were top notch quality.

    PROS: Good product.

CONS: Not so durable. Device came apart with just a small amount of pressure.

Decent Quality, A bit Ugly, Silver Screws for Some Reason

    PROS: Inexpensive

    It Works

CONS: The design is a bit ugly, I don't understand why the surround needs to be "inset". It serves no purpose. It just looks ugly compared to the normally flush wall plates. -1 Star

Even though my wall plate is white, I was provided with silver finishing screws. This is not how they are pictures. I have other screws I can use, but providing silver ones is both annoying and silly. - 2 Stars

    HDMI Wall Plate
Ok product I will use again knowing I will have to improve the quality of the piece myself. The cost makes it worth it!!!

PROS: Is what it says it is! Good Price

CONS: Screws are a little cheap and some funky thread count that do not screw in well to some low-voltage cut in rings, HDMI Jack pushes through wall plate. Cure I use my own screws and put some silicone on the back side of the plate to hold the jack in place. Shouldn't have to do that if they take care of these problems its a 10

    Professional look
Overall very nice, just needs a little tweeking. Price is great.

    PROS: Looks professional, works great.

CONS: Flexible piece inside the wall should be a little longer
    Plate is a little fragile

    Flimsy and easily broken
The plastic plate that the female connector is mounted in is so flimsy that the first cable I plugged in popped the connector out the back of the plate! This was the case on many of the one I ordered, not just one. Whomever designed this needs to understand that HDMI cables fit tight, and there is some mechanical stress while plugging a cable in that needs to be accounted for. A little thicker plastic would make this product great.

Also, the screws that came with the kit to mount the trim plate are not traditional pan head color matched screws. They were silver machine screws! Looks kinda industrial, which does not go with the rest of most homes or offices!

PROS: it transfers a HDMI signal...that's about it.

    CONS: Flimsy, breakable, odd screws

    pops out

PROS: looks good when in the wall

CONS: when you plug in the cord the built in recevier pushes through and you have to take it out and reset it back in the cutout. There should be some kind of clip to keep it in the hole.

Not much to say... great quality, works wonderfully.

    Neat wall plate
I should have done this a long time ago, rather than just having the HDMI cable come out of the wall. Very neat setup, and makes getting the TV off the wall easier. Have not noticed any degradation or hiccups in the HDMI connection, even though now I have three cables and these two wall plates between the TV and the receiver.
