The video "says" the cable used is item #2747, but that is not the cable actually used in the video. Item #2747 is speaker wire. What cable is the one used in the video? It looks more like DMX or even microphone cable.
    Eugene V on Aug 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you are correct, the cable mentioned in the video is not the 2747 cable.

This connector is designed to be used with standard RG6 cable, but the video shows a two conductor cable when wiring.

When using a single conductor RG6 cable, the single conductor will be soldered to the pin/positive, while the RG6 shielding is to be soldered to the ground/negative.
Is there a red marked version of this connector or a red collar included? When making stereo connections with L and R it's helpful to tell which cable is which. Thanks.

BEST ANSWER: There is only one version of this RCA Connector available. Unfortunately we do not have any alternate or different colored options available.
What's the maximum wire gauge these connectors will accept? E.g. you need to create RCA receiver connections using from 16 to 10 gauge speaker wire.

BEST ANSWER: I would say 14 AWG is the maximum for solid-core and/or stranded speaker wire that would fill that solder cup to maximum. [from Walter M WEGRZYN (Mesa, AZ)] on 07/21/2017!!!!
Can I use this for my subwoofer by soldering regular 14 awg speaker wire to it?
    New User U on Jul 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Although you could use this end with 14awg, I would have to ask why not just order an RCA end designed to work with speaker wire. This end has a 1/4” dia opening designed for RG6 cable.

It's not a super tight fit on the amp/cd player/whatever, but that's the way I like it. I can pull these off and put them back on with one hand. They aren't so loose that they're just gonna fall off or anything, but if you accidentlly bump a cable without noticing they might come off. Not a big deal to me just thought I would mention it in case it's a big deal to you. Like I said, I like them the way they are.
I thought about getting some of the 1.5 ft already made cables from monoprice for $2.28 each and then dismantling those because it would be cheaper. However, I didn't do this and don't recommend it either. Those might be potted up with silicone or something (I don't really know) so why bother to fight all that when you can just buy these ready to use?

PROS: Good quality for a great price. I put these in my hi fi setup using silver wire and although I don't have any $80 a piece German made WBT connections to compare it to, I feel like I'm getting all my music through the system.

CONS: Can't buy them color coded.
Probably not made out of copper. The specs don't say what.
The instructional video on this website for this product is not the way to do it. If you're going by that, you're going to mess it up. I doubt that guy in the video actually finished the job the way he was going. It never did show him do it just strip the wire and then fiddle with all of it.
Don't strip the center conductor 1/2" like it shows. Only about 1/8 to 3/16". Also, don't tin the connections first. I know it's normally common practice to do this but in this case don't. Run the ground/shield wire through the hole (leaving it long). Then TRIM, strip and lay the center conductor wire in the center barrel cup and then use some pliers to clamp the connector around the wire. Don't smash it down too much tho. This will hold it all in place very nicely. Now you can solder the connections and cut off the excess. This way won't work as well if you tin it first as the hole and center barrel cup will be filled up with solder.

    Subwoofer connection
I used these with some RG6 cable for a subwoofer connection. Works great, no problems. Easy to solder. I wish they included color bands to change as desired.

    PROS: Metal, good quality.
    Easy to solder.

CONS: I had one with stripped threads on the cover. Make sure you order extras just in case.

    Great functionally and aesthetic
Regular rg6 stripper will prepare coax for soldering.

    PROS: Price

CONS: Solder it straight or may snap the solder connection when screwing on the barrel.

This was a lot easier than I had expected. I've worked with a lot of solder connectors in the past that were very difficult. These could not have been easier.

    PROS: Easy, high quality

Good product, but won't work in my application
Picked these up to go on an amp for my motorcycle. After receiving the items I realized that the barrel on them tapers, and is thicker than a standard plug. Normally I would really like this in the product, but due to the application it makes the product unusable. The amp has an outer plate which the barrel must go thru, and due to the thickness it will not work.

Debating if I should return the unopened items, or hold on to them for possible future use.

    PROS: Pros:
hefty metal construction, and seems to be built very well.

    CONS: Cons:
Don't know of any yet since I didn't get to use the product.

PROS: Terrific quality! Love the metal casings.

CONS: Agree with previous review - need to come in red for LT/RT application
