Do I need to use this repeater as a junction between 2 shorter cables, or can I place it near the AVR or the projector attached to a single 25' Redmere active HDMI cable? Currently, the Redmere will not pass 4kHDR at 60fps, only 24 fps
    Mark L on Apr 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Previously I could not get the certified premium high speed HDR (18Gbps) HDMI at 15 ft or 10 ft or a active Luxe series CL3 20 ft (Gbps) to pass a 4K HDR 60p signal; However, I used the 4k Pro HDMI repeater in several configurations and they all worked: 10ft passive (HDMI) - repeater - 10 ft passive, 3 ft passive - repeater - 15 ft passive, 15 ft passive - repeater - 3 ft passive, 10 ft passive - repeater - 6 ft passive. All these worked without signal drop, and I could not see a noticeable difference. I'm currently running 3 ft passive HDMI to repeater to 15 ft Passive HDMI, and works great. I never tried Redmere, but I thought they only ran at 4k at 24 Hz, with 10.2Gbps, I could be wrong. Maybe upgrade to a 18Gbps cable also?
can this repeater be used with active (redmere etc.) hdmi cables?

BEST ANSWER: For the price it's worth a try. My system kept loosing signal with a 50 foot 4k rated hdmi cable (not monoprice), that supposedly had a repeater built in. This repeater works, had to put it in at the projector/tv, as it didn't help at the bluray/amp. Hope it works for you!
Will this pass and boost hdr by connecting 2 certified cables ie: the 20' + 6'?
    A shopper on Dec 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Jeff M didn't answer the question concerning HDR. I can confirm using a Monoprice HDMI certified cable of 20' (Marantz AV8802A) + repeater + 10' Monoprice HDMI certified cable works just fine for HDR and 4K from a Roku Ultra. The Marantz shows the HDMI signal to be 4k/60Hz Y'CbCr 4:2:2 on the menu screen and 4k/60Hz BT.2020 during a show labeled as Ultra HD 4k and with an HDR symbol in the Netflix menu. For reference, I am using a 3' Monoprice HDMI certified from the Roku Ultra and the chain is connected to a Samsung UN65JS9500 TV.

    BEST ANSWER: I don’t know
Between my TiVo Bolt & Sony x940D, I have a 3 ft Ultra Slim Active HDMI cable (rated as 4K @ 60Hz) connected to the Blackbird, followed by a 60 ft Select Active Series High Speed HDMI (rated as 4K @ 24Hz). The Tivo insists I only have 1080p. When I change the Tivo resolution to 2160p, I see the red screen of death. If I select 2160p Pass Thru I will see 4K content in Netflix but not Amazon, but the Tivo will revert it back to 1080p after a couple of days. I thought that the Blackbird would increase the signal from 4k @ 24Hz to 60Hz? Did I misunderstand? Am I doing something wrong?

BEST ANSWER: Sorry to hear of the issues you have experienced with this item. Perhaps the issue is at the first 3ft Active HDMI cable. Active HDMI cables are best used when the end labeled "TV" or "Display" is connected directly to a TV's HDMI input. I would recommend trying and swapping the 3ft cable with a non active HDMI cable. Such as our Certified Premium HDMI cables which are capable of 4K@60Hz.

I bought two of these to allow for HDMI ports on a conference table to reach a wall-mounted HD tv/monitor. They seem to be working great but there is an occasional black-out for a couple seconds every 15-30 minutes. Source is a MacBook Pro with built-in HDMI. Is there any troubleshooting I can try?
    Rick M on Mar 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I'm sorry to hear that, I would recommend trying a lower resolution output from the MacBook Pro to see if the issue still occurs. You can try a different source and assist in seeing if it is the repeater experiencing the issue. Also, swapping the HDMI cables to see if the issue still occurs.

Is ARC supported through the use of the repeater?
    A shopper on Mar 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Unfortunately ARC would not be supported with this repeater.
Hi, I have a 10Mtrs HDMI cable that nearly holds sync with a PS4 PRO with 4K video, however when I put this in 4K HDR I get nothing. Is this likely to solve this with my existing cable? also any distributors in the UK? Thanks for any help. Martin.
    A shopper on Mar 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The answer to this is probably "maybe". It might be able to give you the extra bandwidth you need.
Have you confirmed through other sources though, that your current TV is handling HDR properly though? All options are set correct, and such.
Can you extend farther by adding more of these in line?
    Tim O on Dec 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hello, it is only recommended to use one repeater or extender in a particular run. While it may work, there is no guarantee that it will work properly with the devices. Use 2 or more of these at your own discretion. Thank you for your question and I hope this helps!

    Great product for cost!
We just saved a lot of money using these instead of CAT5e/6/a or fiber extenders. Ran 4K60 video from a server room out to two Dell monitors. A 15ft HDMI + repeater + 50ft HDMI works well - the 50ft is a nice heavy-gauge cable, by the way. Not so much luck with a 15ft + 50ft ... but that long cable was much thinner, and generic.
As everyone has said, it's worth a try for this price!

    Works as advertised
After trying certified and active cables rated for 18 Gbps, I could not get a 4k HDR signal to work beyond 10 feet without signal drop or signal sparkles/crackels... this product simple works. Currently running 3 foot passive certified hDMI cable to repeater then 15 ft passive certified HDMI from repeater to display without issue.

Blackbird 4K Pro HDMI 2.0 Repeater
I tried it to replace another repeater I was already using. It Didn't work. I concluded that the problem was in the old cable. I put them both into stock.

    Works as Described
Overall I am very happy with this device. I have all hdmi 2.0 compliant cabling (3' to AVR, 6' to wall, 30' in wall, and 6' to TV) and was having constant noise "sparkles" and handshaking issues. I ordered 2 3' cables and placed 3' from the TV and is pretty much rock solid now. I have had one flicker, but the signal comes immediately back so not sure if it was a source issue or not.

PS - This will allow ARC and will slightly improve pass through. For the life of me I could not get atmos to pass from netflix tv app to my AVR. It works pretty well now, but I can tell it drops occasionally. ARC is awful, but this will at least pass it. Reading the reviews I thought this feature would be removed.

PSPS - When I first got it I installed it backwards (dumb me) and I noticed ARC Atmos was perfect. I have not tried yet, but might see if it completely fixes it. Video will not pass from an AVR into the tv though and that makes sense.

    It works
It does work, however every few days when I turn on the TV, I get a blank screen. I need to unplug the adapter on both sides, and plug back in. Then it works fine. Thinking I might need a powered adapter. Hopefully manufacturer is reading this and can give me some advise. My config is as follows.
Verizon Fios Cable box located in basement. Adapter connected to cable from cable box on 2nd floor. adapter then goes to TV. Somewhat long HDMI runs. Using redmeir mono price cables. Signal is great once handshake is re-established.
