    They work, but they break
These devices, for as relatively expensive as they are, do not hold up very well. We're using them with laptops to allow teachers to project, but I've had quite a few of them where the tip has simply broken off. It's not like I'm leaving these in the hands of students to abuse, my teachers are pretty good about taking care of their technology. These adapters are just very fragile. The tips break off so easily!

    Response from Monoprice

Thank you for your review on PID 3653. My apologies for the build issues experienced with these adapters. Just to verify, how many adapters have broken so far? Do you happen to have them all on hand? Also, if I may ask, can you send me a picture of the broken tip? Please let me know so we can look into this matter further. Sorry again for any trouble this has caused and thank you in advance.

The connector can't fit into my graphics card. The connector is short, so the large HDMI port is hitting the edge of my case, preventing it from connecting. If you aren't trying to cram this thing into a tight space, you should be fine.

    PROS: Works
    Not crappily made

    CONS: Too short

Mini HDMI to Standard HDMI Connector
Adapter works as advertised makes it possible to connect most "Mini HDMI" products to a "Standard HDMI" products. An inexpenside solution. However, the plastic insulations around the adapter is too thick (much thicker than what's on the cable connectors) and this makes it impossible to plug it into some products. I couldn't plug this adapter into several PC's because the video cards Mini HDMI port was too close to the PC case for this adapter fit.

PROS: Makes is possible to connect a "Mini HDMI" device to a "Standard HDMI" device.

CONS: The plastic insultative coating is too thick. This makes it difficult to use on some video cards and some populat PC cases. I would reccomend using the Mini HDMI to Standard HDMI Cable over the connector, whenever possible. However, to date I've only been able to find one "Mini HDMI" to "Standard HDMI" cable and it's only available in 6' lengths. If you need a longer cable you may have to find an HDMI extension cable (if you're lucky enough to locate one) or, you will have to make due with one of these Mini HDMI to Standard HDMI adapters (as you can easily find a Standard HDMI cable in 6', 9', 12', or even 15' lengths).

    Good value
I am using this on My AVCHD camcorder as mini HDMI to a Standard HDMI adapter to connect to the High Def. TV. It is working fine. Much less expensive as compare to the brand name one. I keep this in my camcorder bag all the time.

    PROS: Working as designed.

    CONS: None.

Required if you have a mini-HDMI Jack on your Video Card
This little adapter will allow you to take a standard sized HDMI Male cable of any length and convert it to the miniature HDMI slot that comes on some electronic devices as well as many Video Cards for PC's. Now I can send HDMI out from my card to my 55" TV or my Projector, both many feet away from where my PC lives. The cable included with my Nvidia GTX 580 was too short to be of use, and this adapter allows you to use any HDMI of any length. Thanks Monoprice!
