I added my EZ crimp tool, PoE tester, and a link check tester, to round it out for my needs. That all fits in a small compartment along with some cable ties, connectors, Cat5 barrels and such. The case is just big enough to hold all that so you're not going to add too much more in the way of tools. But I consider that a plus.
PROS: Handy little everything in one place kit. I have a problem keeping the tools to work on Cat5 together so this has paid for itself in hours saved not looking for these tools. The tester gives you more than just a good/bad indicator and it's a good price for a tester, crimper, & punch down tool, which come with 2 tips.
I was surprised and happy with this kit. I do wish that it came with more instructions than it does but it has helped me tremendously with some home networking projects since the end of last year. I would recommend it.
This kit has a little bit of everything in it. Not meant for running wire and making cables everyday but a good kit for when a problem or something unplanned arises. Tester is basic works well to verify if your cable is good or not. There is a little bit of everything to run a data or phone line. All fits in a nice little case.
PROS: nice kit for the price, you could easily spend this amount for a crimp or punch tool alone.
I bought this to make new cat6 runs throughout my house. Everything works well and is good quality. My only complaint, and it is very small, is that the strippers on the crimper, don't seem to work that well, however, I just use a standard cable stripper, everything else is great.
PROS: High Quality
CONS: Strippers on the Crimper don't work that well.
