I'll be buying more of these. Instead of using a clumsy pin inserter, just push the pins into their proper sockets, and lightly pull the pins from the other side with needle nose pliers until they click into place. Don't bend or squeeze the pins too tightly. You'll be done in under a minute!
This adapter comes with the connector unpinned, so you can configure the pins/wires to fit your configuration. The wire coloring is consistent between the adapters Monoprice sells, so if you use a standard ethernet cable, the colors will be connected (e.g. orange on one adapter will be connected to orange on the other).
CONS: The RJ-45 part is NOT pinned. You have to pin it out yourself. Perhaps I'm just missing where it specifies it, but I don't see anything anywhere that states that you have to do the pin-out yourself. When I asked the online support people, they don't know the answer. I would have hoped for a chart or something. If you know what the pin-out should be, it's not a problem, I'm sure, but if not, you're apparently out of luck
