PS/2 Y Splitter Cable for Notebook

Some older laptops, such as the IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad, the Dell Inspiron 8100, and the Dell Latitude C610, have only a single PS/2 port for using an external keyboard or mouse. However, these ports are wired in such a way to allow the use of both a PS/2 keyboard and a PS/2 mouse at the same time by using a special splitter cable, which re-routes the wires to the proper pins. This adapter cable is designed for this application.

Note that this is not a true 1:1 splitter. It is designed specifically to use with one of these older systems with the keyboard/mouse functionality on the single PS/2 port. Please refer to your system documentation to verify that it is designed and wired for this dual functionality of the single PS/2 port.

Worked great to allow my Compaq Evo N1000c to accept both an external mouse and keyboard, using the single PS/2 jack in the back of the computer. Good quality, good price, good result.

If you have an IBM Thinkpad, it's great. If you have another brand machine, it's hit or miss. At this discounted (less than $2.50) price, if you don't have an IBM, it's definitely worth trying out to see if it does work. But don't buy in bulk until you're sure. And if it doesn;t work, give it to a friend who has an IBM as a gift. It's cheaper than buying them a beer, and it lasts longer!

    Not compatible
Splitter didn't work on single ps/2 port on Gigabyte mobo. Only a single ps/2 device worked at a time. I think this is a special splitter for specific laptops.
