5 PAIRS OF High-Quality Gold Plated Speaker Banana Plugs, Open Screw Type

Banana plugs make speaker installation a breeze. They are designed for use with amplifiers or speakers that use traditional binding posts. Not only is it easier to make the connection on the back of your amp, it is safer, with no chance of stray wire strands creating a short across contacts.

These high quality plugs are the open screw type and can accept bare wire, spades, or other banana plugs. They are sized to fit speaker wire from 12 to 18 AWG. Each pair comes with one plug color coded red and the other coded black, for easy polarity identification.

The plug body is made of brass, which is then plated with gold to help prevent corrosion and ensure smooth connections.

This multi-pack includes five pairs of plugs, perfect for connecting the satellite and center channel speakers in a 5.1 channel setup.

    Features:

    • Can accept bare wire, spades, or other banana plugs
    • Can accept 12 to 18 AWG speaker wires
    • Color coded black/red rings for maintaining proper polarity
    • Secure, positive contact with binding posts
    • Corrosion resistant, 24K gold plated brass plug
    • Each order includes FIVE pairs (10 plugs total)

The following video shows the differences between the various types of banana plugs and includes a demonstration of how to install each type.

Sapcers' dont allow screw to crimp wire tightly
First off the how-to video is mis-leading because it the plugs it shows are not the ones for this sku. There is a little segment at the end for these plugs and its not clear that you cannot screw in the wires the same way as the other plugs. You have to put them in at a right angle. Second the red or black spacer at the bottom of the screw is too thick and does not allow the screw to crimp the wire tightly. I was able to pull out the wire which means it did not have a very good connection. The good news is the spacers can be removed and the screws are able to be tightened all the way down crimping the wire securely, but now I have to remember (or mark) the positive and negative wires separately.

    CONS: spacer is too thick

    Nice Banana Plugs, but...
These are very good quality banana plugs and have used them multiple times. However I recommend the closed-screw type over these. The closed screw type puts less stress on the strands of the wire, look nicer, and make a better/stronger connection

    Banana Plugs open screw
    5/5

PROS: Excellent quality. Screws down tight for even the smallest of diameter ofwire. Plug is flared just right for a tight fit connection.

    No Lip on Collar
Unlike most closed screw type banana plugs, these do not have a lip on the collar- the threads go all the way to the top. This makes a traditional rear mount tricky as when you fan the wire strands out over the top of the collar, they fold backward on the threads and prevent tightening. To circumvent this, you have to leave the collar in the sleeve, insert the wire and try to fan the strands out through the side openings, then tighten.

So this open screw type is great for "T" connections (wire inserted through the side), but not very good for rear connections... Unless I'm an idiot and have overlooked a simple solution.

    PROS: Solid construction

    Good looking

CONS: Traditional rear collar mount is tricky

These things work great. I had to look up online how to properly install wires in these things, but once I got that down it's easy.

    Not sure...?
I'm giving these plugs 5 stars, buuuuuut.... I am not sure if the banana plugs were too small, or if the female ends on the wall plate were too big. I chose to just strip the wires and connect them through the traditional clam/screw connections at the wall plate. Now I have all of these banana plugs just sitting here...
