Dual Mode USB-C MicroSD Reader
Enjoy virtually unlimited storage space on your PC, Mac®, or mobile device using this Dual Mode USB Type-C MicroSD® Reader from Monoprice!
This handy little adapter is perfect for this transition period from the older USB Type-A standard to the new USB 3.1 Type-C standard. It features both a USB Type-A and a USB Type-C connector, allowing you to plug it into any USB 2.0, 3.0, or 3.1 port using with a Type-A or Type-C connector.
A microSD card slot is embedded within the Type-A connector, which is compatible with any size or type of microSD card. When fully inserted into the Type-A connector, the microSD card is virtually invisible. A small button on the connector head ejects the card sufficiently to allow it to be removed.
This is a true plug-n-play device, which requires no drivers, installations, or configurations. Simply plug any microSD card into the Type-A connector, then plug it into any female USB Type-A or Type-C port. This reader conforms to the USB 3.0 standard and therefore supports a 5.0Gbps data transfer rate, far in excess of the maximum microSD card speed.

Questions and Answers
I'm just wondering if when a micro SD is inserted into the USB slot in this device, is this device still able to be plug into a USB slot of a PC and subsequently able to read it as well?
Now insert it into either an old USB-A port or a modern USB-C port (not both at once!) and the memory card will show up as a drive, to let you copy files to and from.
If it doesn't show up, make sure you put the micro SD card in all the way, and the right way up.
There's a little slider that helps you get the card out, should you need it.
I'd suggest a redesign of the plastic to just give one strong loop through which a mini-lanyard can tie-through, and including one in the package would be a nice touch too. It would also be better to make the microSD bay spring-loaded, as the little orange switch on the bottom is easily moved inside someone's pockets. The silicone protector keeps the microSD from falling out, but it's not perfect. It is essential, though, because it does a good job of keeping dust out of the USB-A connector. Also the black plastic on the rim of the USB-C connector has begun to crack off, though I don't think that will affect usage.
PROS: Fast transfer speed
CONS: Not very durable
Handles 64GB microSD card no problem
Recognized by Nexus 6P (Had to format first though)
CONS: The cover isn't very strong, a little too easy to open.
PROS: This device works as expected. You install a Mini-SDCARD and you cannot see it is there. It is very fast.
CONS: The rubber covering the Type-A connector seems flimsy to where it could break with normal wear and tear.
PROS: Works well
CONS: Have to take the case off the phone to use it
PROS: It works as intended
CONS: Too big
