Stream videos and music from an external micro SD card to your Android™ phone or tablet using this OTG™ Card Reader Adapter from Monoprice!
OTG or On-The-Go™ is the simple way to connect USB peripherals to your Android smartphone or tablet. In this case, the USB card reader is built into the adapter so you can easily attach add microSD card support to a phone that lacks a card slot or add a second card slot to devices that come with a slot.
This OTG adapter features a micro USB plug on one end and microSD card reader at the other. A small button on the side of the case helps eject the card and a dust cap is included to keep the reader from getting clogged with dust or lint. With the end cap in place the adapter measures only 0.6" x 0.3" x 1.3".

I love this little guy. just plug an SD card into the USB part and it becomes an amazing SD card reader.. not enough? Plug it into your android and VOALA!! It is now readable and you can transfer files back and forth (I use ES file explorer). Not enough? THey even engineered a way to never loose your OTG cap. If you have a mini-lanyard you can thread it through the cap and then through the hole provided in the main part where there is a little loop on the main part. You then can disconnect the cap without it totally disconnecting. I feel like I could be a spy with this thing.
This little gadget is a very useful device for moving files quickly from any device that it connects to. I use it on my Galaxy Nite 4 & also my Galaxy Tab S. You can also pop this into a computer to move files. I now have a 128 GB micro SD in it. This is a great find!

The MicroSD card inserts into the same side as the regular USB port, in a special slot. This means you have to remove it from the slot to get the card in and out, but it’s a neat design. The construction of this reader is really nice and solid. Not flimsy or cheap-feeling. If you get a USB-C to MicroUSB adapter, you can plug it directly into a newer laptop that doesn’t have conventional USB ports.
Brilliant little device. I have an extra 8GB microSD card so this is a quick keychain reader/backup that I'll use for excess music that I don't want to have on my phone and as a SD card at work with a card reader. Still not sure exactly what to do with it, but it's small, simple, & works great with a Galaxy SIII
