So this thing started smoking yesterday. Yes, that's literally what happened.
I had used the USB port for a while, and it ran alright for sometime until one day I made the decision to move my desktop. After unplugging everything, I finally turned my desktop on, plugged in this usb hub, and then saw almost immediately as the USB hub began smoking really really bad, sending off an incredible burning electronic aroma that I am trying to forget.

I didn't even think a USB hub was capable of pretty much burning itself like that. Guess this one is very special. Anyways, due to its freakish way of ending its life, I can't really give it the highest score.

PROS: It worked prior to the entire sequence of it burning its insides.

    CONS: It burned its insides.

only good for short term use and low powered devices
Only good for devices that aren't going to be connected long and don't need power, and not usable with cameras

PROS: Cheap, nice arrangement of plugs

CONS: Very under powered, using with an external hard drive is problematic it kept disconnecting about every hour or so. Tried it with about 4 different external drives all with power supplies and just couldn't use it. Didn't work well with any of he web cams i tried.

Power supply should have a bit more amps, but...
Check the power supply ratings. 4amps, etc, For as many devices as you have, I really hope they have a 10amp (5volt) PS in a future version. Perhaps if they develop a USB3.0 model in the future they will provide a bit more amps.Overall a good value, but I suggest a more robust power supply as I've had devices go off the USB link when others pull energy intermittently.

PROS: Good device for the price.

CONS: Not enough power if you plug in many devices.

Sick and tired of not having enough ports? Try this!
If you are sick and tired of having too few ports, or the ones you have are in the way of your mouse, look no further. This baby will run three 2 TB 2.5" HDDs at once. No more having to plug and unplug drives to save/see what is on them. This cannot be beaten.

PROS: I can run 3, count 'em three, 2.5" HDs off this sucker. They all read and write, they must be attached the first time, one at a time, but after that, its all good.

    CONS: Haven't found one yet.

    i never thought i would need 12
It work out of the box, which better than every other hub i ever used, and i removed all of the other and replaced them with this one. using 10 of the 12 ports. I couldn't be happier.

PROS: in use lights, main in use lights, easy to use circular design was much better than i thought, because all the cords are going different directions.

    It's a USB Hub!
Bought this for my CCIE lab so I could connect to dynamips with my 3750's on my desk. I bought it only to find I needed a larger one,so I gave this one to my girlfriend and she loves it! She's an artist and has a bunch of USB devices she's always using.

PROS: It works fine out of the box and provides me with a bunch of USB ports.

    CONS: None

    Does the bare minimum
Bought two of these and now no longer use either.
They look great, I can plug in many devices.

I have experienced a few issues on both devices (trying on multiple computers)
    1) trying to sync my phone and copy data to a usb stick causes freezing up and devices to stop being recognized.
    2) cannot charge more than 3 devices. Works fine for 2 ipads and a phone but as soon as you add another device that needs to charge they all stop charging.

So, I got what I bought. I just wish that it did more.

    PROS: lots of ports
    nice design

    CONS: under powered
devices stop being recognized when you unplug and plug back in

Nice powered USB 12 port Hub
Both units purchased have worked just fine right out of the boxes. No issues plugging in extra USB devices on these computers anymore.

PROS: With the unit being powered it gives flexability on using any USB device including unpowered external drives. Nice having one connection facing up on the top of the unit.

CONS: If you are tight on space you might have issues getting to the back couple of connections due to the round shape of the unit.

Powers 12 devices well, but needs computer on to do so
Finding a high-density USB hub that also can sustain more than one bus powered hard drive is more difficult than you might think. This one does the trick! I've actually filled all 12 slots on this hub with a myriad of devices and simultaneously used them all on my MacBook Pro without a hitch.

Depending upon your desk configuration, the round format may be a benefit or hinderance YMMV. Also, this hub seemingly refuses to power connected devices (even when plugged in to AC) unless it detects voltage from the computer. So, if you plan on using this as some stand-alone charging station, there are other products for that.

PROS: Handles 12 devices in one unit.
Enough output power for several hard drives
    Two handy ports on top.

CONS: Despite included external ac adapter, unit will only power USB devices when computer is attached and powered on.
Round design can potentially take up desktop space
