USB 3.0 Retractable Cable - A Male to Micro B Male - 3 Ft
You'll never deal with a tangled USB cable again when you use this USB 3.0 Retractable Cable from Monoprice!
This flat, 3-foot long USB 3.0 cable is wound around a central spring-loaded spool. Pulling on the two connector ends unwinds the cable, while the internal ratchet action keeps the cable extracted to the length you want. Pull the cable ends to their limit and the cable will easily wind itself back around the spool, thereby preventing tangles.
This USB 3.0 cable features a USB 3.0 A male connector on one end and a USB 3.0 micro B male connector on the other end. The spool assembly measures about 2.0" in diameter and is about 0.9" thick.
PROS: Great concept, just wish the black plastic on the USB3 end would be 1/2 as thick so that it would work with my gear.
CONS: USB3 end is too thick for use with cellphones.
CONS: The cables will not retract as advertised. All of them would not. Bad shipment?
I haven't had any issues with the fit of the cable that other reviewers have mentioned but I can easily see why they might have this issue. I guess I'm just lucky with my phone cases so far.
PROS: Full USB 3.0 functionality, tangle free design, good for travel, works for charging and data, seems durable
CONS: Absolutely huge compared to other retractable cables
I have had very disappointing results with mono price 10' & 15' micro usb 2 cables, so I am cautiously optimistic on these cables.
PROS: USB 3 charging cable
CONS: a lot bigger than expected, could be due to it being a USB 3
very stiff in functionality
PROS: Works properly on my external 1.5TB USB 3.0 backup drive for my laptop. Needed something tangle free to store in the bag along with the laptop, etc. This works great for my needs.
CONS: Its a lot bigger than I expected but its a USB 3 cable and therefore has more wires in it than the USB 2 versions I have. The cable is a bit stiff and it can take a try or 2 to get it to retract, but some of that may go away after some use.
Well one day I was getting out to a call a little too quickly and my phone was in my lap. The phone fell (which was fine, I have a good case), but the cable would never retract again. After that I kept using it, but just recently it stopped working.
I've had it less than a year, maybe 9 months?
Thank you for your review and my apologies for any inconvenience with PID 10966. Now if you would like, I can help in setting up an RMA for a replacement on the cable. Just let me know and I can get that set up. I hope this helps!

CONS: limited to .5 amps
Even though it functions properly, It's difficult to think of any reason to recommend it. Retractable cables aren't just about function, their other purpose is small size. This item is just too large to justify its existence. It gets 5 out of 10. Can't be recommended.
PROS: It transmits power and data properly. It has thick cable, seems sturdy and reasonably well made.
CONS: It's HUGE. It's easily 5 to 6 times larger than Monoprice's equivalent USB 2.0 micro-b retractable unit.
It doesn't always reel back properly. The cables sometimes needs to be pulled out again in order for it reel in properly.. This isn't a problem with the Monoprice USB 2.0 micro-b retractable.
The cable is quite stiff, perhaps causing the issues with it not always reeling back in properly.
