Is it rated for in wall use (CL2)?
    A shopper on Jan 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No it is not, at least no indication on the wire..... the only one is 80 celsius rated, so not fire retardant..... sorry
Does that exist anyway? There is a bit of exageration in those precautions......and did you know they question about day to day health safety for all those fire retardant products...
Will this work with an 8 port trip lite usb hub?
    New User U on Dec 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hello, thank you for your inquiry. This item will work with an associating hub as long as it is a powered hub(connected to a power source/adapter) and not working directly though the computer USB bus. I hope this answers your question. Thank you!

I guess I was the one unlucky person
I bought this cable to connect a Brother DCP-7060D printer/scanner...nothing unusual. It worked great for 3 months. Then it died. As it turned out, the circuitry in the pod on the cable (this is what makes it "active") had apparently become so hot it burned a little hole in the case itself and rendered itself useless.

Unfortunately because of monoprice's policy that the customer is responsible for return shipping costs, it makes returning it more expensive then the original price I paid. This is a very disappointing policy, especially since I spent over $7000 with monoprice last year and over $2000 this year so far. Basically I got sold a lemon and I have to eat the cost of it.

I usually love monoprice's products, but I have to give a thumbs down on this transaction.

    PROS: Great Price

    CONS: Died after 3 months

    Response from Monoprice

Thank you for your review. And I am truly sorry to hear of your experience you have had with this product. For now, if you prefer, I can assist you in setting you up for a replacement on the item if you haven't done so already. We do warrant our non-electronics and cables with a lifetime warranty as well as a 1 year warranty for electronics. It will be of no additional cost to obtain a replacement, so please let me know if you want to continue. I would just require your order# to set it up. Alternatively, if you are truly unsatisfied of the item I can assist you in setting up a return. Thank you!

Works just like I hoped it would
I was using 15' usb for high resolution audio streaming and was experiencing signal drops and popping noises. This 33' active cable was far more than I needed, but it immediately fixed my issues. It was a super price for a solving much needed problem.

CONS: longer than needed. It would be nice if some shorter lengths were available.

    No Signal Loss
I was concerned that the distance I needed to travel was going to cause a signal loss/drop. It does not. The active cable is what might be referred to as "powered", so it boosts the signal so that it can travel beyond the 15ft USB limit without issue.

    PROS: Works as described

Connects my computer to my stereo (with built-in DAC)

PROS: It connects my computer to my stereo, so the stereo's fancier DAC can produce the audio. I haven't had any connectivity issues.

    Excellent cable
This cable is just what we needed to be able to have a scanner placed on the opposite side of a desk area without a lot of exposed cables. Works perfectly and no speed issues detected.

    Great Value
Shopping at the local office supply store, a six foot USB cable might cost $30. As a result, I thought I might have to pay a couple of hundred dollars for a 33 foot USB cord. I was absolutely floored with the incredibly low price of a 33 foot USB cord from Monoprice. The cord arrived quickly. I connected it from a PC to a printer, and it worked just fine. I couldn't be happier!

PROS: Extremely good value. Works great.
