Works with my Audio interface over long distance to cheap FW port
I bought 2 identically specced leads, one from Amazon, one from here. For whatever reason, the one from Amazon did not work from my audio device (Saffire Pro 40) to my PC (FireWire built into motherboard), but this cable did. Very happy I got this.
I picked up a new audio interface for my studio. However, the old firewire cable I had would not reach the rack where the interface was installed. This particular cable was the perfect length and made a safe connection to my MOTU without putting any unnecessary stress on the ports of the interface or computer.
Cable stiffness is a "pro" for me, as it keeps it in position. Blue color. Much more convenient than having to look for a USB 3 port on the back of the computer, this cable remains connected to the computer and the end sits on my desk.
As far as the cable goes, it's long, it reaches my hard drives, and it transfers data back and forth. Not much else I could ask for, really. The best part about the order, though, is dealing with MonoPriceor not dealing with them, really. The product was easy to find on the site, in-stock, and shipped fast with a couplea clicks. I like that a dinky little order like this one is treated the same as a big order. It's just one cable to MonoPrice, but to me it meant the difference between working and not working. Kudos.
PROS: The cable I needed was in-stock and priced right. I don't know what else to say about a FireWire cable other than, "it works." Oh, and it's fun to go to the local box stores and laugh at their insane prices for similar items. "It's Belkin, so you know the copper they use is, like, super sweet. It'll totally transfer your data, like, y'know, better." Belkin, huh? I guess they ran out of Monster Cable... Does anyone actually buy $40 FireWire cables anymore?!?
