At this price, why not get the good stuff for the future
I swapped every patch cable to my router and switch with these for about as much as I would have paid for regular CAT 6 patch cables. These are well made and will allow me to move to 10GBE when the time is right. At their price it makes no sense not to get the best.
PROS: Well made, pretty flexible, nicely terminated, no complaints.
CONS: Wish it came in white (instead of blue) so it would be easier to hide it along the baseboard for longer runs.
I had Cat6 and wanted to give Cat6a a try. I didn't think it would make much of a difference. But for a little over $8 bucks I thought - what the heck. Well, I tried it out last night via speedtest dot net and it gave me 3 extra megs on my download (no joke).
If your looking for high quality Cat cable for a gigabyte nic, or even a standard 10/100 nic or XBOX or PS3 and not to worried about the thickness of the cable or the radiant blue color, get this.
Inexpensive and very high quality (as usual from monoprince). Going from my Macbook Pro to a Mac Mini thru an Airport Extreme (gigabit). Grabbing files on the Drobo hooked up to the Mac Mini is nearly as fast as when I’m connected directly over Firewire 800.
I’m not sure if the colors mean anything, but it would be nice if it came in white. The bright blue doesn’t really go with my living room (since I don’t live in a Toys R Us) but it sure makes the cable easy to locate.
