Are these cables suitable for power over ethernet applications? My concern is the gauge of the wire being 30AWG and the cables getting warm. I plan on using them up to 30 watts - 802.3at power specification.

BEST ANSWER: We are running about 250 of them using POE and haven't had a single issue. In fact, we are installing them in our data closet as jumper and cross-over connections as well as at the desktop level. I have also convinced several of my peers at other companies to switch to these and they love them. No problems that I have heard.

We are using these on both ends (switch end and far end) for phones, WAPs, and other POE equipment. We've installed hundreds of devices and have no problems at all. For IP phones, we even purchase them in longer lengths, such as 14-25 feet, for the occasional hard-to-reach device and have experienced no problems pushing POE to anything at all. They've worked great.

I use them extensively for 802.3af PoE for a mobile training lab. I have not tried devices requiring 802.3at, but, have had no issues with the current usage. I would think they will be fine for short distance, but, you should probably try them before making a large investment..

They are Suitable for POE applications . I do it every day .

Manufacturers ask that you de-rate the cable by 10% in length . IE: Total Ethernet link under 300 ft.

They are good and priced resonable.

We started to use Slim run type cables. to make cable management easier and less crowding inside the rack.
So far, they are good and affordably priced compared to
other vendors.
