Reliably connect your home theater equipment to greater distances than with passive cables using this Select Active Series High Speed HDMI® Cable with RedMere® Technology from Monoprice!
This High Speed HDMI Cable supports the following general features:
- Active signal regeneration to ensure accurate reproduction over longer distances
- 10.2Gbps data throughput
- VW-1 in-wall fire safety rating
- 28AWG copper conductors
- Gold plated connectors
It supports the following HDMI features:
- 1080p resolution at 60Hz
- 4K resolution at 24Hz
- 3D video
- HDMI Ethernet Channel
- Audio Return Channel
- Deep Color up to 16-bits per channel
- High Definition Audio, including SA-CD, DVD-Audio, DTS-HD Master Audio™, and Dolby TrueHD™
Note that Active HDMI cables are directional. Check each end for markings indicating whether it should be connected to the source or the display device. Connecting them backwards will not hurt anything, they just won't work until connected properly.
Note also that only one Active HDMI cable should be present in any single cable run, even if using a switch, splitter, or matrix. Connecting multiple active HDMI cables in series will cause them to fail to reliably transmit the video signal because each is trying to do the same thing.
TIP: It is a good idea to test cables and connections before installing them inside a wall. If there are any issues or problems, we can help you resolve them before you spend the time, effort, and expense of installing them inside the walls.

PROS: light weight, would be easy to route through walls
CONS: Product description requires an amendment.
PROS: Easy to manage behind my TV.
CONS: I wish I read a previous review that stated that these cables cannot be used thru a wallplate.
Info on website and on the tiny piece of paper that comes with the cable needs to be updated.
I found out the hard way after connecting them. I had to mix and match these cables with other HDMI cables I ordered to get my TV to work
PROS: Good cable. Light, flexible, awesome.
CONS: Can't really think of any. I guess, if you are an idiot, you might not understand that these are unidirectional and will try to plug them in the wrong way. But if you're not an idiot, then this is great.
PROS: thin and easy to make bends and thread through holes. Great picture
CONS: none known
PROS: Very light weight, easily transportable cable
Works as advertised
CONS: None that I know of
PROS: Thin, easily routed HDMI cable.
PROS: Nice and thin and the design is unique.
CONS: Signal travels in one direction only and the cable has labels at both ends to instruct proper hook up.
PROS: Cables are nice and thin
CONS: Connector doesnt seem to fit into the Xbox One HDMI slot all the way
PROS: Flexible cables.
CONS: Doesn't work with iPad Air using Apple's expensive HDMI adapter. Doesn't work with Lenovo laptop and HDMI adapter. Test them before you leave with them on a trip and expect to watch movies on a big screen TV from your iPad or laptop.
Thank you for your review and truly sorry to hear about your experience with PID 9169. Keep in mind redmere cables are directional, can you verify that the source end is connected to the the source device and the display end is connecting directly to the TV? For trouble shooting purposes, have you tried testing the cable with another device without an adapter to verify if the cable is defective? Also would you happen to have your order number so that I may look further into the matter? Please let me know so that I may further assist you. Thank you in advance!
PROS: Nice and thin and flexible.
CONS: Worse transmission of signal than regular HDMI in my situation.
