Select Active Series High Speed HDMI® Cable with RedMere® Technology, 10ft

Reliably connect your home theater equipment to greater distances than with passive cables using this Select Active Series High Speed HDMI® Cable with RedMere® Technology from Monoprice!

This High Speed HDMI Cable supports the following general features:

    • Active signal regeneration to ensure accurate reproduction over longer distances
    • 10.2Gbps data throughput
    • VW-1 in-wall fire safety rating
    • 28AWG copper conductors
    • Gold plated connectors

It supports the following HDMI features:

    • 1080p resolution at 60Hz
    • 4K resolution at 24Hz
    • 3D video
    • HDMI Ethernet Channel
    • Audio Return Channel
    • Deep Color up to 16-bits per channel
    • x.v.Color™
    • High Definition Audio, including SA-CD, DVD-Audio, DTS-HD Master Audio™, and Dolby TrueHD™

Note that Active HDMI cables are directional. Check each end for markings indicating whether it should be connected to the source or the display device. Connecting them backwards will not hurt anything, they just won't work until connected properly.

Note also that only one Active HDMI cable should be present in any single cable run, even if using a switch, splitter, or matrix. Connecting multiple active HDMI cables in series will cause them to fail to reliably transmit the video signal because each is trying to do the same thing.

TIP: It is a good idea to test cables and connections before installing them inside a wall. If there are any issues or problems, we can help you resolve them before you spend the time, effort, and expense of installing them inside the walls.

Does this cable support HDR ?
    A shopper on Feb 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. This cable will not support HDR. I would recommend looking into our Certified Premium High Speed HDMI cables, which will support HDR.

Should you require additional assistance, please reach out to our technical support team with a detailed question via any of the methods available here:

Our knowledgeable Technical Support staff would be more than happy to assist. Thank you
do you need active redmere to get HDR quality, or can you go with a standard HDMI cable? thanks
    A shopper on Nov 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hello, in regards to your question, since HDR requires a high amount of bandwidth it is recommended to use an 18gbps cable. You don't need an active or Redmere cable to obtain HDR quality though. Any High Speed 18gbps will suffice. Thank you for your inquiry!

    Defective Cables
Ordered three 10 ft. cables when they became available. Unfortunately none of the three worked. Contacted Monoprice Tech Support and while helpful in arranging a RMA they offered no reasons as to why none of the three worked. I was transferred to the Returns Desk. As my RMA was being processed, I was informed that the cables "just this minute went out of stock" and that I would need to wait for a new shipment to receive my replacements. I was not happy. I decided to share my experience with the CNET writer who wrote the first article on Monoprice's Redmere HDMI cables. He in turn shared it with a Monoprice rep. Today I learned from the author that Monoprice had a quality issue with the initial batch of cables. I wonder if that's the reason they suddenly went out of stock. While I'm anxious to receive the new cables, I'm a bit apprehensive.

PROS: As thin as I expected

    CONS: Do not work

    Cable says VW-1, not CL2
Not sure if I received the right cable, the PID on the wrapper has the correct product - 9168, 10-ft, however, when I looked at the cable markings - it clearly states VW-1 NOT CL-2. VW-1 is NOT rated for inside wall.
Can you please verify if this is certified to be installed inside walls?

    PROS: Thin and flexible

CONS: Not CL-2 as stated in the description and should not be installed in the wall if the cable marking is correct

    RedMere Cables
Excellent Cables!!! Why would ANYONE buy the overpriced Monster cables or the ones from Best Buy????? The Bottom Line Up Front is that they are ALL made in China anyway.

Excellent build quality on these cables.

    PROS: Low Cost

    Excellent Build Quality

    Reduced cable size

    CONS: None

    No Problems With New Batch
I have a small HDTV on a wall mount in the bedroom, and had just been using a regular coaxial cable that I snaked through the wall because at the time I installed it, I didn't want to pay for an extra HD box on a small screen that wouldn't get much use.

We recently switched to DirecTV, though, and the new box would no longer support the coaxial cable so I need to re-route. Rather than rip open the wall again, my plan was to just attach whatever HDMI cable I got to one end of the old coaxial cable and pull it through. I have purchased several HDMI cables from Monoprice, but the other ones were pretty heavy duty and I was worried about being able to make the run through the wall with those.

That's when I found this HDMI cable. I read all the reviews about faulty cables, and appreciated the fact that Monoprice addressed the comments and admitted that the first batch of cables were prone to problems. They also stated that they would be certain to remedy this problem when the next batch of cables arrived.

I trusted that Monoprice would deliver on their promise, so I requested to be notified when the cable was back in stock. About a week later, I got an email saying they were available, and ordered one without hesitation.

It came quickly, and before I ran it behind the wall, I tested it to make sure it worked. No issues there, so I routed it through the wall and have been enjoying the improved picture and audio quality the HDMI cable offers over coaxial ever since.

Good job, Monoprice, on getting this issue resolved and sticking by your commitment to provide top quality products at excellent prices!

2 6ft cables worked the 1 10ft cable did not
I too had an issue with one of the three cables. In places where the 6ft cables worked fine, the 10ft would send a message "Incompatible video signal has been received. Check the output device settings".

Given the "newness" of the product & despite this setback, the other 2 were great, and I plan to order more to replace all HDMI cables I'm currently using in my A/V setup!

    PROS: thin

CONS: build quality not there yet

    Inconsistent Performance
Ordered 3 of these cables. 2 of the three would not work directly from my DirecTV receiver to the TV. Same result using a video camera as the source.

At the same time I was installing a powered matrix switch. If placed between the switch and TV, the two previously non-functioning cables would work. Contacted Monoprice Technical support and they were great. Worked with me and set up RMAs for the two "flaky" cables. Hopefully the new ones will work consistently.

PROS: Definitely thin and as expected.

    CONS: Inconsistent functionality

Couldn't have asked for a better experience!
Like most, I had assumed the thicker cable provided greater clarity and less signal interference. As such, I had previously purchased the thickest, stiffest cables I could find and proceeded to run them through the wall...what a pain. But when it was done, I was sure that I would never have to do that again...until of course, the day my son noticed that his PS4 wasn't coming in clearly. What I didn't realize is that he was constantly swapping the HDMI from his PS4 to his laptop, ultimately wearing the plug end and severing the connecting wires intermittently.
The new cables are so thin and pliable, pulling 2 of them through the wall was no problem so now he has a dedicated one for his laptop!
Remember these cables are directional and IT DOES MATTER!
I highly recommend these cables and wouldn't buy cables anywhere other than Monoprice.
High quality products and the best service, hands down!

PROS: Perfect cables, easy to run in wall, and unsurpassed picture quality.

    CONS: None at all.
