I installed this cable for a customer with a 21" Dell LCD monitor. The Dell has a small recessed area where the VGA and HDMI inputs face downwards. Towards the bottom of this recessed area it curves back out leaving very little space. I was barely able to get the cable connected and had to leave it plugged in at a slight angle. The picture seems to be ok, but this is definitely not an ideal situation. Most VGA cables nowadays have a slimmer, shorter connector so I would definitely check your monitor out for clearance issues before purchasing this cable.
PROS: Cable is affordable and does the job
CONS: VGA connector is huge and may not fit certain monitors
I was hoping to use my monitor's VGA port in order to free up the HDMI port. Unfortunately the with the DisplayPort to VGA Cable the video is shaky and flickers. I tried different refresh rates, but I could not get a stable display at 1920 x 1080. So I'm back to using the HDMI port and my cable is collecting dust.
PROS: I'm able to connect my DisplayPort connector to my monitor's VGA port.
