    Mac issue connecting to DVI
Not an issue with the cable itself, but use caution if you are planning to connect a Mac (iMac in my case) to a second monitor (Dell 2405FPW in my case). Mac detected external display but the Dell does not get a signal and goes to sleep after a few seconds. Tried with two different cables, same result. I ran across several comments (for example see http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1806231) of people with variations of this problem on different types of Macs and external displays, common element being they were trying to connect to DVI port on the second monitor. Not sure how you tell if your monitor has a Mac-friendly DVI port. Several who had this issue said they used mac to VGA cable (instead of mac to DVI) and it worked fine. Hope this is helpful.

    5/5
I've bought a number of these at various lengths, the 3ft if perfect for a mac based desk with a close monitor without any clutter. Quality is good.

    PROS: Good quality

Aesthetically fits with a mac environment and the 3ft length is perfect for a second monitor to a laptop

    Works perfectly
This is the third one of these I've bought. I'm using them to connect macs to big HP monitors such as the HP LP2465. It works perfectly and is inexpensive.

    CONS: None

Good product, last about 4 years of heavy use.
I had a pair of these for four years or so. One for office, one for home monitor. Plugged and unplugged each once a day five days a week or so, in other words. They both started to give up the ghost at almost the same time this year, after which I ordered two more. Given the heavy use, I think they held up very well when both started to fail, I was irritated for a while, but then I realized that the daily plugging and unplugging is probably more than most people will ever do, and I bet these held up as well as an Apple cable would. So I'd rate them a four or five.

PROS: held up well under a lot of use

CONS: eventually failed after four years of the ole in-out.

    plug port is too big
the cable works exactly as expect but the mini displayport port is quite large. plugging it into my macbook pro, it obstruct the use of my adjacent usb port. i wish the plug was slimmer. it also runs pretty hot after extended use.

    PROS: video output perfectly

CONS: mini dispplayport plug is too big obstruct my adjacent macbook pro's usb! runs a little hot

Video quality is good, but could use a physical redesign
I gave this cable a 5 even though the video quality is good because that is only half the picture. I would imagine that most people that buy this cable use it for their Apple products. You think this being the case, this product would be designed so that you can use it and the USB port next to the DisplayPort on a MacBook Pro. Such is not the case. Plus even if it did fit properly, the box on the end is quite large. I don't see why that can't be moved to the DVI end, behind the monitor where you can't see it.

Flicker and noise issues with Macbook Air and Dell 2407WFPb
First, let me say MonoPrice have been very helpful in addressing the problems, to my full satisfaction. They sent a replacement unit, but it had the same problems and they promptly issued a refund. I am -and will continue to be- a satisfied customer.

I connected this cable between my 2010 MacBook Air 13" and my 1920x1600 resolution 2006 Dell 2407WFPb flatscreen DVI-D input. On about 50% of resumes from hibernation or just from display sleep, I get heavy flicker, noise, and an unusuable Dell screen. Sometimes, unplugging and replugging the cable resolves it, but not always. (That also has the drawback of repositioning every open window, and I have to manually rearrange them)
I used the genuine Apple Brand adapter and a DVI-DVI cable for two weeks prior to buying this cable and never had this problem. Even now, the Apple adapter works without issues, and the cable does not. So it is not hardware related.

As others have noted, the mini-DP plug is huge and partially blocks the adjacent USB port on the 2010 Macbook Air. I can plug in small USB-sticks but not some more elaborate cables. Other lengths of cable on this site seem to have a more reasonable sized mini-DP-plug .

PROS: The cable is well priced. If it works for your setup, by all means get it.
Backed by MonoPrice's awesome customer service.

CONS: Flicker and noise upon resume from sleep (2010 MacBook Air + 1920x1600 DELL)
Huge mini-DP plug partially blocks the adjacent ports

Doesn't work with Microsoft Surface Dock
I just got a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Dock, which has 2 mini-displayports. I have two monitors with DVI connections, so I purchased two of these mini-dp to AVI cables. Based on the posted reviews it seemed like it would work for this, but when I connected the cables to the dock nothing went to the monitors. I then found that the Surface Dock's mini-dp ports won't work with a passive cable/adapter, only with an active adapter. Although I'm sure this cable works fine for others, I was disappointed that the description for this device doesn't have any notes that it doesn't work for all systems with a mini displayport.

    PROS: Inexpensive, well made

CONS: Not compatible with the Microsoft Surface Dock

Cheap Quality Cable + Great Service = Awesomeness
This is a great cable. They've modified the design so that the part that plugs in to your MacBook is much, much smaller and doesn't block any of the neighboring ports. The part that plugs in to the monitor is slightly larger, but I'm perfectly fine with that. The screws are easier to handle as well.

The first cable I ordered I had a few issues with, but Monoprice was super awesome and sent me a replacement for free and super fast! You can't beat that kind of service. Will definitely make Monoprice my first stop for any of my electronic needs!

PROS: Cheap, great signal quality, plug-and-use, modified design makes the plug-in so much smaller!

    CONS: none
