One answer to a question prompted this question. "this cable requires a powered HDMI port on both ends". Do most components such as a basic projector or similar equipment have a powered HDMI input? Since the cable isn't bi-directional, why would you need a powered port? HDMI Cable amplification on the output end?
    Scott S on Apr 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi Scott, All HDMI ports on equipment are inherently powered. As part of the HDMI standards, equipment had a 5V pin that supplies power. Slimrun AV, along with any other Active HDMI cable, takes advantage of this 5V pin to equalize the video signal or to power a specialized chipset that enhances the signal integrity.
What is the minimum conduit size and conduit bend radius that will fit the Slim Run AV HDR?
    Robert S on Apr 28, 2017
What is the outer diameter of the cable and what is the bend radius?
    A shopper on Mar 25, 2017
    BEST ANSWER: Hi, Bend Radius is 80mm Dynamic / 40mm Static.the cable OD is 3.9MM +/- 0.15mm.
Are the HDMI ends removable on these cables to facilitate running them through walls?
    Geoffrey R on Apr 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi Geoffrey, The connectors are not removable. thank you for asking.
This cable says that is supports HDR but which versions does it specifically support (e.g., HDR10, Dolby Vision, HLG, etc..)? Also, does this cable support ARC?
    A shopper on Apr 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I purchased this cable and it does NOT support ARC. However, it does support 4K@60hz 4:4:4 which requires 18gbps and in theory should support Dolby Vision when they start mastering Blu Rays with that content later this year.
What are the AWG and OD at each length for this series of cable (21572) VW-1 (Not CMP)?

Does this cable support 4K HDR [@60Hz] to play 4K HDR Hollywood movies on 4K TVs using 4K player? Why can't they simply answer this in Description rather than convoluted description? Thanks.
    A shopper on Apr 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Yes, this cable will support 4K @ 60hz HDR. It will be an active HDMI cable so you just want to make sure to have the source labeled end plugged into your source device and the display labeled end plugged into the TV. It will not work backwards.
Hello, I need to know of if this cable will work with my brand new Apple TV 4K. I want 4k 60hz HDR and 4:2:2 saturation. Does this cable will work ? I need 50ft
    A shopper on Oct 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have had a very different experience on mine. I have the 50ft cable and run it from my AVR to my PJ and get 60hz 4:4:4 no problem.

I have a certified premium cable connecting my aTV4k to the AVR, then this carries the video 50ft to my PJ.
I just purchased this cable (75ft), but ARC did not seem to work. Is it expected? Did anyone manage to make it work?
    New User U on May 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I had the same problem - this cable does not support arc, but monoprice says it does if you ask them ( i have the chat transcript). Now it's in my conduit and I have to have a different audio solution.
Will this cable work from 27” 2017 IMac to an older 46 inch TV and A Samsung Black 50” Tv for mirroring?
    A shopper on Feb 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There is no technical reason why it shouldn't, but there is no reason to buy this cable if you're not doing long distances or HDR. This is a very expensive active cable for long distances and full HDR. I recommend you get a cheaper cable.
HI, are there any copper or other conductor wires running inside the cable with the optical fibers?

    Thanks,
    A shopper on Feb 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No metals that I know of, I am using a 50 ft fiber to a JVC 520 projector being fed by a Sony UBP -X 800 Ultra HD blue ray player and the 4 K HDR blue rays and the 4K internet looks fabulous
Will an IR Injector work with this cable?
    Ward W on Oct 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have not connected this cable yet, I don’t know if that will work.
Will this cable work properly with an LG 65E6P?
    Glenn V on Aug 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It works with a LG 55E6 and a direct connection to a OPPA UDP-203 . Since the cable does not support ARC and my receiver does not support 4K passthrough, I have a separate HDMI cable for OPPO audio to the TV, and ARC from the TV to the receiver.
I have a Onkyo TX-NR656. Could I use the Source end to my Main monitor hdmi port ON RECEIVER and then TV end to Samsung KS8000 4K SUHD and then hook a Xbox One S up to Onkyo and still have 4K video coming out of tv?
    Jonathan D on May 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If your receiver can pass through 4K content this will work. I have the exact same setup with a Denon receiver and it works fine. Be aware that this cable does not support ARC so you will need to use an optical cable in addition to this HDMI cable if you want that feature.
Can I use this cable to connect a DirecTv box (HR-24 HD DVR) to my Television and receive 1080 to HD quality ? Marine application on a boat requires the Box to be located approx 50' from the TV and need ultra thin cable to run in the track the TV pulls out on.
    A shopper on May 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. Yes, this would work just fine to connect from your DirecTV box to your TV to receive HD picture. This cable is a directional cable, just be sure to connect the "Source" labeled end to the DirecTV box and then end labeled "Display" to the TV. It will not work if plugged in backwards.

"IF" this cable contains amplification circuitry on both ends (implied by the need for a powered HDMI port on both ends) can you hook up a rear room projector such that you run a short cable to a wall plate, run one of these to the rear projector and connect to the inside of a wall plate, and then use another short cable to hook up to the projector? Even with your older hi end cables I was told by Monoprice technicians not to use interface cables or connections or it wouldn't work. Does this cable cure that problem?
    Scott S on Apr 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi Scott, This is an active cable which pulls 5V of power from the sink (display) device. We recommend a direct connection to the display in order to ensure that the transceiver which is built into the connector will receive the proper voltage to function properly. When additional cables and wall plate connectors are introduced the voltage drops significantly enough that the cable will not work properly. This is why we would recommend not using them in that fashion. as an alternative for an installation like that, we would highly recommend a high performance HDBaseT solution which would allow you to use conventional Cat5e/6a wall plates and keystones.
What version of HDMI does this cable support? They don't even list such a basic cable requirement. Please, be honest upfront with customers.
    A shopper on Apr 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the cable supports all the features contained in the latest HDMI specification. Monoprice complies to HDMI guidelines and does not display version numbers on cables, descriptions, or advertising.
Is the cable bi directional & HDCP & EDID compliant? And if so what versions?
    Gerald R on Apr 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Single direction and requires a powered HDMI port on both ends.
Are these cables Premium Certified or are they going through the certification process so they will they be at some point?
    Geoffrey R on Apr 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. These cables will not be Premium Certified cables. Unfortunately we would not have any information regarding if the cables will be going through the certification.

    Video works; ARC doesn't
Video works fine. I can pull through 4K HDR 10 bit 4:2:0 at 60Hz, but ARC doesn't work.
    May 9, 2017
    DOES NOT SUPPORT ARC!
They say it does but it does not. This fiber cable does not have an AUDIO RETUN CHANNEL, so beware if you are looking for that feature.

The image quality is stunning, but the wire is VERY delicate, so if you need to snake this in a conduit lube the sucker up and be gentle.

50ft - Works great between Denon 4300H and JVC RS420 projector
50ft - Works great between Denon 4300H and JVC RS420 projector. Purchased this because I needed a longer run (up through wall and through attic and ceiling) than my previous MP Premium Certified 25ft HDMI cable could provide.

Unlike the super heavy and thick previous cable (which is still very high quality for the price), this cable was easy to run and does not put strain on the HDMI ports on my AVR or PJ.

Highly recommend for anyone that is going through the 4K HDR "I can't get any cables working" game. I'm finally done playing that game and I've won.

It was worth the expense, now I have no problems.
This cable solved a lot of problems for a long run HDMI. The picture would black out intermittently. The cable that I had installed was "certified" but did not perform for the long run. It was worth the expense, now I have no problems.

    New fiber optic HDMI
bought and installed this new series cable going from my new Marantz 6010 receiver to my JVC RS 520 projector.the cable was very easy to run going from the ceiling projector across the ceiling and then down the walls and over to the receiver location.
Great performance with 4k HDR picture and sound!

    4K@60 HDMI cable

    So far so good...
Plug and Play. So far no issues going direct or with any DA unit. Haven't seen any sparkles or any issues. Fingers crossed!

FYI, cables are VERY thin. Be careful with them. They are fragile!

    Cons: Really REALLY expensive.

    Works like a dream
I bought this so I could use my Oppo 203 to its fullest potential with my LG OLED. Works as described for my needs. It did not bother me that the cable is mono directional since I do not utilize that function.
