Ferrite Cores (1 PAIR) for 24AWG HDMI® Cable

Ferrite cores are great enhancements to any electronic signal transmission line. These magnetic materials absorb signal interference, reduce signal errors and improve signal integrity. Unfortunately, factory molded on versions for large gauge cables tend to be disproportionately large and interfere with each other in side by side connections. These extremely effective, yet very compact snap-on versions accomplish the same task without getting in the way.

Note:  Will not fit 24AWG cables with net jacket, or 22AWG/28AWG.

Is there a certain distance these have to be from the end of the cable?
I thought I read somewhere that it depends on the frequency of the interference.

I found the following in a white paper:
"Use a core with an I.D. that fits the conductor as snugly as possible."
"If a product has RFI problems at both low and high frequencies, use chokes for
each frequency range in series, placing the chokes for the highest frequency range
closest to the equipment that receives the interference."

That helps marginally. If you install one of these and it doesn't help, try moving it along the cable while observing the effect.

BEST ANSWER: Hello, thank you for your question. That's is exactly right, there is not a specific distance the cores need to be installed and depending on which equipment is having interference will dictate the location of the cores placement and is found through trial and error. I hope this helps, and of course if you have any more questions feel free to contact us!
Please tell me the Inside Diameter (ID)of both the 22AWG and t he 24AWG cores?

BEST ANSWER: The smaller one is about .15 inches, and the larger one is about .43 inches.

    Mixed feelings about this item
I had to squeeze extremely hard to fit onto 24AWG cable. Pliers were required and some of the ferrite cores broke when being squeezed closed.

This was not expected as both ferrite and cable were specified 24AWG.

CONS: Too small opening to fit easily on PID 3658 - 24AWG silver-plated HDMI cable.

    Great product
These are great and I am a loyal customer and will buy every cable, adapter and whatnot from these guys. All the while laughing when I go to best buy looking at their outrageous prices . I will be ordering more products from Monoprice in the near future. Everything I have ordered from them has been superior. I tell everyone I know to shop here. Great products, great prices, great customer service, fast shipping, and packed well too. I love Monoprice!!

PROS: Well for starters $2.14 for 2 (a pair not 2 halves) That's peanuts to pay for the security these give against any line noise. Installation was a breeze. I used a small regular screwdriver to gently open the tabs. Put one on either end of the wires and squeezed them together with my thumb and forefinger.

CONS: Hot apple pie not included :D

reminder this wont fit net-jacketed 24awg hdmi cable
these magnets work great. however, this is just a reminder to those of you buying these 24awg ferrite cores, you need to order the 24awg hdmi cable that does NOT have the braided net jacket on it braided jackets increase the width of the cable, so these would be too small to snap closed. Either order the 24awg hdmi without the net jacket, or the 26awg hdmi with the net jacket to get these to fit. Monoprice rules!

Fits Perfect with 6ft 24AWG CL2 Silver Plated High Speed HDMI Cable
Forgot to mention what cable I used these on. Others mentioned they didn't fit 24awg. Well your wrong, it fit mine perfectly.

Well built cores, tight install but that's good
Had to push fairly hard to get these guys on a 45 foot HDMI cable I bought but they did go on, and I actually prefer a snug fit so I was very pleased with this. Well-built and look good. Buy with confidence.

Work well with 24 AWG HDMI cable
Fit well. Snapped on a little snug, but no problems. Worth the peace of mind for a more pure signal transfer. My 45 ft HDMI is passing 1080P and HD audio no problems.

    Super fast delivery
    5/5

PROS: Item arrived the next day the order was placed even though I just paid normal delivery fee. Probably because of it was a local delivery (Phoenix, AZ)? Anyway, very happy with this purchase.

    CONS: None so far.

    Nice!!!
Adding a pair of these was a nice finishing touch to my HDMI Cables (2x(24AWG) - 6ft. And to help clarify any confusion, one pair = two full ferrite cores, not two halves (like someone mention in another review. One pair per cable. Also, fast shipping from Monoprice...as always :-)
