Is this a one direction cable?
    A shopper on Feb 23, 2018
    BEST ANSWER: Yes.
Can use this Hdmi cable on a 4k2k splitter?
    A shopper on Jan 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I use the Splitter on the front end of the signal and the split it 5 ways with 75' cables. Has been working for us for the last three years. I have this setup the same way in 8 different locations.
I want to run this cable from my directv receiver to a projector and watch sports on a big screen in the yard. I’ve read where this will work, where it wont work and where it might work. Can anyone tell me what to expect from this proposed setup and preferably from someone that has already done it?

    HDMI over 75ft Cable
Bought a new Tuner (ONKYO TX-NR609) and Blu-Ray (Sony BDPS570) that both have Internet connections. The Internet wireless reception at their location is just not good enough, so I ran a Monoprice 2217 50FT Cat6 550MHz UTP Ethernet Network Cable from my router to an old gigabit Ethernet switch. I connected the new tuner and Blu-Ray to the switch. The speed improvement over wireless was fantastic. I laid out the cable to avoid trip hazards and started thinking about a permanent installation and what else I should do at the same time.

I have two cable TV DVRs (SA Explorer 8240HDC). I use their HDMI outputs for local viewing and send the RF output to the TV in the other room over coax. Looked at alternatives that would give wide screen HD from the remote DVRs. It was easy to eliminate the extremely expensive alternatives which user feedback says don't work. Found the Monoprice 7697 75ft 26AWG CL2 Standard Speed HDMI Cable w/ Built-in Equalizer for less than 10% of the price of the other alternative. (Need 75ft because TV was about 10ft from router.)

After reading RayHoli0's review of the cable I had some reservations and contacted Monoprice's Technical Support Chat. Below is the Chat dialog:

    1) Does the 7697 come with instructions on proper installation and setting equalizer?

    A) I'm sorry, i do not see any instructions for setting the eq dial on the equalizer. You would simply change the settings if the cable is not working properly.

    2) You sell Ferrite Cores for 22AGW and 24AGW HDMI cables. Why no 26AGW Ferrite Core for 7697?

    A) Unfortunately, we do not carry any 26AWG ferrite cores. For the most part, they seem to be unnecessary, since the majority of our 26AWG cables include equalizers. The equalizers will provide better signal correction than the ferrite cores will.

    3) I read the feedback by RayHoli0 at www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10240&cs_id=1024006&p_id=7697&seq=1&format=4feedback . What caused his equipment to be damaged when he installed a 7697 cable?

    A) Regarding that feedback, we were never able to determine what the customer did wrong. Although, professional HDMI technicials do warn not to plug or unplug your HDMI cables unless all your devices are turned off and unplugged from power.

    4) At equalizer setting "0" is 7697 bi-directional?

    A) This cable is not bidirectional

    5) On the video at www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10240&cs_id=1024006&p_id=7697&seq=1&format=2 it shows for Signal Adjustment of 7697 that number 5,6,&7 are for low power signal and 1,2,3,&4 are for high power signal. This information should be added to the Equalizer product pages.

    A) Thank you. I will go ahead and make sure that is requested now

    5) RayHoli0 said that his cable came set on 3. Would it be safer to start at a different number?

    A) That would be fine. Any setting on the cable should be fine as long as all your equipment is turned off and disconnected from power.

Comment) You should add the information about disconnecting from power to all the HDMI products.

Reply) Thank you. I will go ahead and make sure that is requested now.

I ordered one cable to test before getting the second. When the cable arrived I was still concerned about RayHoli0's disaster. Instead of hooking up to my tuner I first tried an old Samsung monitor that has an HDMI input. Turned off and unplugged the monitor and removed all input cables. Turned off and removed power from the DVR. Connected the HDMI cable then plugged in the monitor and DVR. No smoke just a beautiful picture! Unplugged monitor and DVR and unrolled and straightened the 75ft cable. Routed it to avoid trip hazzards. All my AV equipment is on a UPS battery backup, so I turned the UPS off and connected the HDMI cable. Powered on UPS, plugging in DVR and again no smoke just a beautiful picture on my Samsung HL-T5689S DLP TV!

The equalizer arrived set to 4. Tried different settings but I could not see any difference so I left it at 4. Comparing the HD pictures from the DVR connected over the 75ft cable to the DVR connected over a 6ft Monoprice HDMI cable, neither I nor my wife can see any difference.

    PROS: Picture: Beautiful
    Cost: Very reasonable
    Customer: Very satisfied

    Costly product.. Fried componants
I connected one end of this cable to my new bravia TV.. and then As soon as I plugged it into my (unplugged) HDMI splitter... it fried the TV, It Fried the splitter.. It fried the HDMI port on my $2800 reciever (which the TV was connected to... but this cable wasn't) And it fried my Dish network reciever (which was plugged into the reciever.. but not the TV or the splitter)

This cable has an "in" side, and an "out" side.. I did install it properly.. THere is some kind of a gain setting on the cable. I did not touch it.. it was set to factory settings.. Which was 3 on a scale from 0-7

The 55 inch 3d Sony Bravia made a massive "pop!" as this HDMI cord WELDED itself to the tv... I had to pull it out with pliars.

I don't know what I'm going to do.... It looks like I've lost around $6,000+ worth of equipment... all because I wanted to run an HDMI 75 feet.

One last note... There were no instructions with this cable at all... There was absolutely no way I could have known to do things differently.

PROS: You'll get to test out your home owners insurance.

    CONS: Dangerous.

Cable never worked properly from the moment I unwrapped it. I assume shipping would be way too expensive to exchange.

    PROS: Nice long cable

    CONS: Very weak ends

    75ft 26AWG CL2 Standard HDMI® Cable w/ Built-in Equalizer - Black
In my experience, this cable works exactly as advertised and allows me to feed a 1080p monitor in another part of the house using only this cable.

PROS: Worked perfectly as soon as I hooked it up, picture looked great.

    CONS: None.

    ONLY 1080i
probably would not use this cable after seeing how heavy and thick it was compared to the monster, although it is much cheaper. thanks for heads up to check the HDMI cables before putting in the walls.....

PROS: Found out after ordering that it was only 1080i and not "p". Order came fast and returned was just as fast and got money refunded.

CONS: Opened box and the 75 ft of cable was heavy and think, it was 10lbs when I shipped it back. I ended up just getting the monster 75 because I was short on time and I think Mono didn't have anything 75ft and 1080p. monster was 6lbs and thinner cable. .

    Great Product with Great Price
The cheapest and best 75ft HDMI cable you can buy from a great online store. Period.

PROS: Durable and it work faultlessly.

CONS: Cable-end (HDMI connector) can be a bit more flexible(softer) to make this perfect.

75 foot HDMI cable works great no issues. Tried using extenders and cat6 and was never able to get a decent signal. Ended up trying this cheap cable and it works flawlessly, should have wasted time on other cables.

Great price, but didn't work with our Xbox360
Although it seemed to work with other devices, the Xbox360 failed to send a signal over the cable. We returned it and went for a slightly shorter cable that specifically said it would work with Xbox.

PROS: Price, including Equalizer and a little screwdriver to adjust it.

    CONS: Didn't work with Xbox360

75' HDMI Cable - By Joe Average User (non-tech)
I would purchase this again because I love having all my equipment stored in my computer rack back in another room. I use an IR blaster with cat5 cable to control all my components. It works great and looks cool!

PROS: This 75' cable is great if you want to have all your equipment back in a Rack and nothing on the wall where your TV is! - Very Clean Setup!

CONS: We sometimes notice a persons mouth moving not quite in sync with their words. We think this is what the Built-in Equalizer is for. After trying several different positions on the equalizer it looks much better.
