is this cable 2.0 or 1.4?
    A shopper on Feb 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: As far as I know, this cable is 2.0. I'm using it to carry 1080p from my Blu-ray player to my ceiling mounted projector. Picture looks amazing.

    HDMI cable in-wall install
I'm writing this review to potentially help others with my similar situation/install. I have a Samsung LN46B640, purchased at Best Buy that was to be mounted on the wall in the Family room with all wiring hidden behind the sheetrock. The TV salesman, of course, pushed their 16ft, $169 HDMI cable and gave the usual "you need these special Monster cables for your TV because they are better than any other cables and have a "speed-rating" optimal for your faster 120Hz refresh rate." Simply not true (for more info on inaccurate "speed-rating" tricks click the "Knowledge Base" tab under the product description or simply search the many posts on AVForums.com). I just smiled and told him “No thanks”.

As for my install, here is what I did with outstanding results. I chose the 3990 25ft HDMI(In-Wall Installation) because it was a thicker cable and made snaking it inside the wall a snap. Due to the thicker size, I connected the lighter, more flexible 2891 Port Saver from the wall cable to the TV port. On the other end of the wall cable, I installed the 2730 built-in HDMI port in the wall for a clean look and connected the 4956 4ft HDMI from the wall port to my receiver. No sign of the cables and the entire install looks clean and took about an hour (most of the time spent running the wall wire). The audio and video are clean with no noticeable loss of quality over the 25+ feet of cables and multiple connection points.

As a side note, I also purchased 2 other 6ft HDMI cables for other rooms and the whole order was packaged and shipped for just around $50. I don’t consider myself a cheapo shopper as much as I do a knowledgeable consumer, and will happily drop cash on the things I need/want, but picking up all your home theater supplies at Monoprice is just smart shopping. ($169 for a single cable VS. $50 for everything I needed? This was a no-brainer)

    HUGE!
this cable is HUGE! it as thick as my pinky (look at your hand and think about how thick that is) I was using this on a projector that would not display with two of mono prices 6ft cables (3992) connected together (with a non-monoprice coupler), but works great with it's 25ft length and the extra 6ft from a 6ft monoprice cable, the very same that I cannot couple... so for me there is less loss in this 25ft cable then a 6ft cable (3992)

    PROS: High quality
    works great with picky projector

CONS: HUGE, which limits its flexibility

    Thick cable
Running from my A/V receiver to a projector, the quality of video and audio is great. The connector to my receiver is not as snug as I would like, and the stiffness of the thick cable pulls away from the receiver a bit when moved (a rare event, but one to be aware of).

    PROS: Great performance, fantastic price

    CONS: Very stiff

    No problems with this thing
    See pros and cons.

PROS: It works as advertised. It's a heavy duty cable, very thick, you can tell it's built to last. The picture produced from my laptop to my tv is just as sharp as any other cable I've used. Full 1080p resolution is what I use. I've also used 720p, and it looks just fine too.

CONS: This cable might be thicker than what some people want, but, I didn't want one that would fall apart. It does not flex easy, so if you're trying to do a pretty cable job behind your TV, this may not be what you want.

PROS: picture looks great from cable box and DVD player.

CONS: The thickness of the cable makes a 90 degree bend in the wall a little tough

    Great!
    Another quality product by monoprice!

PROS: Excellent build quality. No signal drop/loss.

CONS: Cable is thick and hence can be hard to bend and fit in tight corners.

Cable arrived quickly and as promised. However, this particular cable might be difficult for some wall-mounted installations as the plastic around the connectors on each end is extremely firm for a couple of inches, making it nearly impossible to bend the cable in the limited space between the wall and the tv. That being said, it is an extremely well-made cable and would be fine for table top mounts or TV's that have the HDMI slots running parallel to the wall.

Nice thick cable. Too bad the ends wont stay put in my receiver or TV which creates signal issues. Sure its a better price than your typical monster cable, but what is the value of a lost signal? Now I need to purchase a different cable to see if the connectors will hold better. I dont know how developed the connector specifications for HDMI but they werent using their heads.
