1000FT Cat 6 Bulk Bare Copper Ethernet Network Cable STP, Solid, In-Wall Rated (CMG), 550MHz, 24AWG - Blue
Avoid having excess Ethernet cable lying around by building your own cables to the exact length needed using this Bulk Ethernet Copper Cable from Monoprice!
- Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) Category 6 Ethernet cable
- 24AWG solid, pure bare copper conductors
- CMG (In-Wall) fire safety rating
- 550MHz bandwidth
- 1000 foot roll
Monoprice Ethernet cables are made of 100% pure bare copper wire, as opposed to copper clad aluminum (CCA) wire, and are therefore fully compliant with UL Code 444 and National Electrical Code TIA-568-C.2 fire and safety standards, which require pure bare copper wire in communications cables.
PROS: Flexible and doesn't knot as much as other stuff I've worked with while pulling. A nice thick coating makes it great for tighter bend radii.
CONS: A little more expensive than other options, though worth the quality in my opinion. I feel like the cable could be packed a little bit better. The pull box isn't great, and the plastic ring that the cable passes through in the hole of the box came out a few times. I've also had the cable knot a few times inside the box. The cardboard isn't very thick and isn't going to stand up too well if you need to transport it to multiple job sites.
There are cables for "Direct Burial" and "Outdoor" offered however, the key with this instal is PVC conduit applications. The outdoor is for above ground while direct burial is for laying bare cable directly into a trench.
Hopefully, there are better suggested application categories on this website in the future.

PROS: Better than the stranded stuff
PROS: Always fast, best cat 6 prices anywhere.
I've seen some reviews about the shielding being ineffective for cross talk of the individual pairs (as the individual pairs are not shielded - everything is shielded as a whole). I purchased this with the knowledge that the overall cable was shielded, not the individual pairs. I ran this for both data and video and wanted sufficient cable shielding so I didn't have any unwanted interference between the two different types of cable runs. After much testing for data throughout and video throughput, I've not seen any issues. I would (and probably soon) buy this product again.
CONS: I agree - the box construction is horrible. Before making any runs, the box started falling apart. A little packing tape fixed it up - and it won't matter all that much, the remaining cable will be gone in no time.
PROS: Very easy to work with as far as the cable.
CONS: Tangles up in the box as we try to pull long runs
PROS: The cable slides easily through walls, comes in a pull box and has tightly twisted pairs around a center plastic divide.
A foil shield covers the pairs and center divide. The shield gives me peace of mind when running closer to fluorescent lighting than I'm comfortable with. The blue color is very deep, and is undeniably ethernet.
CONS: -The center divide is not as substantial as some of the other CAT 6 I've worked with.
-The shield only covers all pairs, and not each pair individually, making the shield ineffective to reducing cross-talk. (I knew this before purchase, but it isn't a pro.)
-The twists of each pair seamed to be inconsistant with my cuts, but I'm not 100% sure.
-The pull box fell apart before I was done with my first job, and sometime the cable doesn't like to come out of it without a fight.
Note: CAT 6 cable is much larger than CAT5e, so make sure you adjust measurements accordingly.
