Why does this say it's rated for a frequency of 550 mhz? Isn't the cat 6 standard up to 250 mhz?
    Peter S on Apr 10, 2017
Since this is a thicker cable than standard Cat6, do you need a special ethernet connector? If so, which one?
BEST ANSWER: I ran the cable through the attic and walls, but did not terminate it, however I don’t see why a standard connector won’t work. You should be able to crunch the cable down enough to make it fit. Note that it is stiff and not as easy to rout as other cables.
Does this cable have an individual shield around every twisted pair or just one single shield around all four pairs?
    New User U on Nov 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The roll I received has a foil shield around each pair, unlike the picture. Also unlike the picture, each colored wired is paired with plain white, no stripe.

    Good Price, Good Cable
Comes in a feeder box, easy to unroll and run to your location.

PROS: Easy to cut insulation. Just all around good cable

    CONS: None that I found

    Great wire
compared to UTP wire, this stuff is a stiffer and harder to use but since I had to run it near power cables in the attic it was necessary to have the extra shielding. The cable feels really high quality and I prefer to use this for any in wall wiring and I only use the cheaper UTP stuff for patch cables.

    Thumbs up ð???
Worked great, pretty stiff but I knew that going in from reading the reviews. Still not to difficult to pull through the walls and attic.

    Highly Recommend
Well constructed cable. Packaged well and easy to fish through walls. I would highly recommend this cable

    Did the job
Used this cable for my first home DIY project to route Ethernet cables from my router to 4 different rooms. Got the 250' box. Cable worked out OK, but note that it is fairly thick and very stiff. If you have a tight installation you may have issues because the cable will not bend to a small radius.

    Thick Cable
Did not work with the connectors I purchased (#7301) however, it worked well with punch downs. This is THICK cable.

REALLY thick cable, like REALLY REALLY thick
To be completely honest here, I'd never made my own cables before. So maybe I made some incorrect purchases. But to the best of my knowledge I did everything right. These cables just plain old Do Not Fit into any regular terminators/ends I could find. I got ones that specifically said Cat6A, and 23AWG and still just could not fit all 8 wires into the ends.

That being said, I got the Cat6A tool-less keystones from here, and those fit perfectly on this cable. So I've just been ending these cables in wall ports on both ends. Not the end of the world, but definitely made my first time doing this more annoying than it needed to be.
