Can anyone report if they have put a cable certifier on this cable and how it stands up? Does it actually meet CAT6 standards?
    Matthew K on Feb 7, 2018
    BEST ANSWER: Hi Matthew,

This cable's performance has been verified by ETL and it bears ETL verification logo on the packaging. The UL rating denotes the fire performance or fire rating of the cable, which is why the cable meets both ETL and UL.

That said, please feel free to tech support and we can share a fresh copy of a Fluke report.

    Thanks for asking.

What is the best RJ45 modular plug for this cable?
    New User U on Nov 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The 8P8C RJ45 Plug with inserts. Product #7266 and use a boot product #7248
Does it come in a self feeding box, a spool, or a coil?

Is this Cat6 cable rated for outdoor use?
    A shopper on Dec 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hello, this cable is not outdoor rated. We have other cables that are indeed are outdoor rated located here.

I hope this helps, thank you!
Would this be acceptable for a POE application? Verses STP cable?
    A shopper on Jan 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this cabling can more than handle any POE types of deployment. STP cable is usually used because of your network environment requires a shielded cable solution.
since this is 550Mhz, can it run 10GB or do I need cat6a?
    Eric D on Jun 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Will it work and does it meet the spec are two different questions. You will find a lot of places that will say it will work up to 55 meters. It will probably work further if you don't have cross talk from other cables. If this was a small environment where you had one 10Gb run and it wouldn't kill you if you had to repull the cable, I would probably try it. If this was a commercial job, I would go straight to 6A or 7.
Is this cable 23AWG or 24AWG? On page 2 of the specifications sheet it shows 24AWG.
    Nathan S on Jul 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Box states 23AWG, printed on cable is 23AWG
How do you achieve a CMR rating while using a PVC jacket? From what I understand, plenum should be used for CMR and CMP ratings. Also, the spec sheet attached to the page has conflicting information. see technical data vs features.
    Andrew A on Jun 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Plenum is used for CMP. CMR is primarily PVC, now that also being said not all CMR is a PVC Jacket, but the majority is.
can this cat6 be burial underground in a conduit?
    samuel h on Jan 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: From How - To Geeks site : In my experience, it doesn’t hurt to combine both trenched conduit and direct burial wire. Expansion is great. Direct burial alone tends to get eaten rather easily if you have any sort of rat/mole/gopher digging around. Straight conduit can leak if done improperly, but the combo is a reliable combo. If you’re concerned about dealing with conduit, flexible “liquid-tight” grey pvc tubing is “very” easy to route, but does cost a bit more than standard pvc.

    Great Stuff!!
I used this to wire replace all the Cat5e runs throughout my entire home. It is fat! If you drilled holes for Cat5e, you'll have to drill them bigger for Cat6. (like I did). Terminating the ends with modular plugs is a bit more of a challenge, but not impossible. I used the cable in conjunction with Monoprice Cat6 keystone jacks and wall plates. I had great results with those products as well. My network is happily humming along at Gigabit speed, thanks to Monoprice!

    PROS: Cost, quality

CONS: Fat and stiff compared to Cat5e. (but expected)

great cable at a great price
I've used this type of cable multiple times for wiring several homes and it works great. Easy to pull and great for your high speed connections. Don't hesitate just buy it.

    PROS: Great price

    Exactly what I needed

    Good quality

    It comes in blue :p

CONS: Wish I could get it next day :)

    Excellent Cable
I recently purchased a house and wanted to wire everything for ethernet, telephone, and cable. I bought 2 boxes to help speed things up when pulling cables. I'm now purchasing a 3rd box because I didn't have enough.

Ended up doing 4 drops per room (2 cat6 ethernet, 1 cat6 telephone, 1 coax). I figured if myself or the new owner if I sell the house wants an extra ethernet they can remove the telephone jack and swap out to rj45 keystone for an extra ethernet port.

I always buy my cables from Monoprice. Always good quality and low cost!

    PROS: Low cost. Good quality.

    CONS: Only had one snag

If I need more, I'll buy from Monoprice again.

I HAVE GONE THRU 4 PALLETS OF THIS PRODUCT AND VERY HAPPY. Do Not take the outer shipping box off the factory box. The factory box will NOT stay closed on its own. We had to buy packing tape to hold many closed. Shipping moves them around then when you place in vehicle to move to storage then back to the vehicle and end up at the site, ya tale tape.

    Quality CAT6 Cable
This was my first time working with a CAT6 cable as well as any cable rated above the most basic rating (CMR, in this case). It was great to work with and provides high quality signal strength. I would definitely buy this again if I needed more CAT6 cables.

Note: I was using a wire tester to ensure that I had made the appropriate connections to the jacks/patch panel but the 7 and 8 pins were lighting up together on the receiving end when the emitter would try to put a signal out on those pins. I eventually realized that the test cable I was using to connect the receiver to the jacks was a CAT5e cable. I made a short bit of CAT6 cable with a plug on each end just for testing purposes and then I saw the 7 and 8 pins started lighting up correctly like the others. If anyone else experiences an oddity with an of the pairs not lighting up correctly, first thing I would say to check is that you aren't using two different kinds of cables (like CAT5e + CAT6). The whole thing, end to end, needs to be the same cable type.

PROS: The cable was stiff and well-insulated, but I actually found that to be a big plus. I needed to run my cables through the attic which has a lot of rough wooden bits and some nails sticking out in places, so the extra thickness and stiffness helped to ensure the cable was in a good position and wasn't damaged when I had to pull it through the walls to the attic and vice versa.

CONS: There's an X-shaped plastic divider that helps separate the four pairs of wires. It's great for adding support and interior insulation but it can make working with the wires a bit difficult since they don't shift around as easily.

Was looking for Cat6 cable for my new house. Searched the web and found Monoprice. Have ordered other products as a result of the great products and services. Recommend.

PROS: Delivered On time, High Quality Product at the best price.

    CONS: None

Fantastic quality, and HEAVY outer sheath.
The quality of this cable is totally worth it. Not only is the price great, but you are totally getting your money's worth. After having run 10,000' of honeywell, I ran this on some runs. I have half the snags and much more confidence in the pull at the end.

    Good cable, fast delivery, but...

PROS: Price of cable is very good and time between ordering and receipt of order was extremely fast. 10s on those items.

CONS: Shipping charge seems to be a bit high. I would prefer lower cost and slower delivery to save some on the shipping if possible. Only a 6 on this item.
