1000FT 23AWG Cat6 500MHz UTP Solid, Riser Rated (CMR), Bulk Ethernet Bare Copper Cable, Blue

Avoid having excess Ethernet cable lying around by building your own cables to the exact length needed using this Bulk Ethernet Copper Cable from Monoprice!

    • Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) Category 6 Ethernet cable
    • 23AWG solid, pure bare copper conductors
    • CMR (Riser) fire safety rating
    • 500MHz bandwidth
    • 1000 foot roll

Monoprice Ethernet cables are made of 100% pure bare copper wire, as opposed to copper clad aluminum (CCA) wire, and are therefore fully compliant with UL Code 444 and National Electrical Code TIA-568-C.2 fire and safety standards, which require pure bare copper wire in communications cables.

can this cat6 be burial underground in a conduit?
    samuel h on Jan 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: From How - To Geeks site : In my experience, it doesn’t hurt to combine both trenched conduit and direct burial wire. Expansion is great. Direct burial alone tends to get eaten rather easily if you have any sort of rat/mole/gopher digging around. Straight conduit can leak if done improperly, but the combo is a reliable combo. If you’re concerned about dealing with conduit, flexible “liquid-tight” grey pvc tubing is “very” easy to route, but does cost a bit more than standard pvc.

    Great Stuff!!
I used this to wire replace all the Cat5e runs throughout my entire home. It is fat! If you drilled holes for Cat5e, you'll have to drill them bigger for Cat6. (like I did). Terminating the ends with modular plugs is a bit more of a challenge, but not impossible. I used the cable in conjunction with Monoprice Cat6 keystone jacks and wall plates. I had great results with those products as well. My network is happily humming along at Gigabit speed, thanks to Monoprice!

    PROS: Cost, quality

CONS: Fat and stiff compared to Cat5e. (but expected)

    Good cable, fast delivery, but...

PROS: Price of cable is very good and time between ordering and receipt of order was extremely fast. 10s on those items.

CONS: Shipping charge seems to be a bit high. I would prefer lower cost and slower delivery to save some on the shipping if possible. Only a 6 on this item.

    Good cable Very Bad Boxes!!!
the cable itself is fine, but dont use the built in handle to carry the boxes, the box will burst apart and you will have a very big mess on your hands. which end the end you spend more money having your employee try to put it back together than you would just going down to the local teleco shop and buying some name brand cable that puts their cable in the correct boxes. But again the cable itself is fine, but im very sore about losing two full boxes of Cat6 cable because of the crappy boxes.

PROS: The cable passes the test with a Fluke DSP 4300 tester set for Cat6, it came out of the boxes fairly easy with minimum snagging, bright colors on the pairs make for easy ID.

CONS: The boxes are crap and fall apart before you even get the cable into the building from just carrying them, every one of them!! what good is the cable if it gets all twisted up because the box fell apart?? Ended up throwing two full boxes away after the boxes fell completely apart in a stair case.
