Has anyone attempted to use this cable between a Home Theater receiver using an HDMI-out (such as the Onkyo TX-NR636) and a projector using a DVI-I input?

BEST ANSWER: Hello, thank you for your question. This cable is designed to be used with devices equipped with a Single Link DVI-D connector, typically found on PCs, projectors, and older video equipment. Please note that these cables do NOT carry audio and will only carry video signals. Also note that the maximum resolution they are able to support is 1080i. I hope this helps, and of course if you have any more questions feel free to contact us!

    GREAT!
the item was shipped fast! the cable was thick and was indeed insulated VERY VERY WELL! this is nice thick cable and was of great quality! the cabled where quality connectors, altough not gold.

i HIGHLY recommend this product. the only negative i found is that the cable is all still spiraled....not a defect just a packing thing that will straiten out.

this would be great for in house cabling!! if i where to build a new hous and run cabling through all the walls/cielings i would buy alot of this stuff!

We use this to connect laptops to our large HDTV in the conference room. Very easy to use, long cable reaches to the end of the conference table.

All of the downsides are the positives. High quality & long length mean it is harder to wrap up & takes up more space when not in use.

PROS: Simple to use. High quality. Good length.

CONS: Stiff cable hard to wrap up for storage.

I researched a bunch on the internet and cable review websites. Did not get any info on MonoPrice cables until I started reading discussion forums and blogs (e.g., AVS Forum). It was 'word of mouth' marketing that sold me. I am using an Optoma HD72 projector with an Oppo OPDV971H DVD player/up-converter. No artifacts or any other display problems. Very happy with MonoPrice cable. Worth noting: I ran cable thru 2 PVC pipe in wall with 3 90* turns. Challenging considering the rubber-like exterior cable covering and 24 AWG thickness. Would have been easer to run thru conduit if cable covering had the 'net jacket' material.

    HDMI to DVI Cable
You always have to worry about running HDMI signal for long lengths because of quality. This 25 ft. cable works perfect. the signal is clear and sharp. You wouldn't know it wasn't just a 6 footer. It is a bit thick and not too flexible, but that may be part of the reason it works so well. Offering this cable with various 90 degree ends might help the fit behind a computer, but it was a small issue. The price was very reasonable, also. I've seen some brand name stuff in the $100 range. Ridiculous!

    HDMI-DVI Cable
I purchased this cable to connect my DVD recorder to my projector that is mounted on the ceiling. I can now watch movies and TV (the DVD recorder has an NTSC/ATSC tuner) on the big screen. I see no difference in the video quality using this cable compared to using the 5-foot cable that came with the projector. With this 25-foot cable I can place the DVD recorder along the wall that serves as my screen. The DVI connector and the HDMI connector are heavy duty just like the cable. This is a quality cable. I don't know why anyone would buy cables anywhere else once they found Monoprice.com.
