Bought 4 for powering 8 SATA hard disks. There are horror stories of simple adapter cables like these being wired incorrectly and starting fires, shorting hard disks, etc. Test the cables before putting them into use.
When one of these splitters caught fire, I thought it was a fluke. But then its replacement did the same thing. These are being used in a server where the connector/SSD sit on the metal case. Somehow, it seems to short though the plastic jacket at the connector end then catch fire. Fortunately, the only thing that burned was the splitter.
