BEST ANSWER: No it is not flat. It is a regular round cable. These are very good quality cables.

What gauge are the signal wires in this cable?

BEST ANSWER: Wires for this kind of cable are not solid conductors, they are very thin stranded copper wires, and the best will be enamel coated. This is all about maximizing skin effect. There are three conductors in this cable. There would barely be room for a single 12 gauge connector in this jacket.that makes a fat speaker wire for most people. For speaker wire, I am using 14 gauge wire on a 25 foot run.
Suffice to say, this cable is great. If you have gear with THD of .008% (yes that is 8/1000%) , and a ridiculous set of speakers it's good enough. If your gear it that great, I'd ask what kind of a sound source are you using. Truly lossless like vorbis or wma on a $3000 system maybe this is the week link, otherwise just buy this and smile. I sold my used amp and preamp for over a grand, and sold stereo to MIT grads for years, so I might know that I am talking about.

Excellent for phones with thick cases.
Need a cable to reach past the thick case on my wife's phone, this is the only cable that worked.

I would give it 5 starts as it appears to be heavy duty but it is on the bulky side as it does not fit mobile phone if it has a case. It needs to be slimmer to be described as truly mobile.

Doesn't fit samsung galaxy s10
Product seems to be well-made, for the most part. The covers (white part) started to fall off after about a year. Just doesn't fit snug into my phone, which is unfortunate. It would go all the way in but wouldn't click into place so it would keep falling out (especially prevalent during driving). Music would pass through so long as nobody within a 1-mile radius decided to sneeze and slightly jostle the cable loose.

Nice, but how's it "mobile"?
Stiff as a groom. I don't plan on using this for "mobile" applications
I probably won't even use these from amp to large headphones as I think the weight will turn out to be annoying.great quality though
if you need to connect devices together (eg DAC/soundcard to amp/pwrd speakers; this would be great.
