Be advised if you want to plug the 3.5mm stereo male to a computer sound card.
I use 3 of these cables to output analog 5.1 from my HT OMEGA Claro+ sound card to my receiver (now used as just an amplifier). The male head is quite thick so I couldn't fit all 3 of them side-by-side. The output jacks on the sound card are too close together.
My solution is to shave off some of the plastic on the head with a knife. About 2mm on opposite sides of the plug, until I could see the clear inner plastic.
I used this high quality adapter to connect my PC’s sound card to a 100 ft audio cable (PID 5350), which ultimately connected to the RCA audio ins on my stereo receiver. Worked great - no hum, no interference.
PROS: incredible value for the price. Good quality construction.
I purchased this to convert stereo sound in my stereo system to a 1/8" RCA plugin for my computer. The object: record some things on my stereo sound system to my computer. It works flawlessy. The equipment I have purchased thus far from Monoprice.com is a bargain price for top of the line quality. I'm glad they are in business. They will be receiving all my business. I'm hooked.
