The FEMALE plugs on this adapter look to be very close together. Are you able to plug 2 of your "premium" 3.5mm to RCA cables into this without them interfering with each other (I'm talking about Product ID: 5597)? That is the problem I have with my current splitter - the premium cables are so thick at the plug they push against each other. Thanks in advance!

I'm trying to connect a DVD with RCA out put to a composite (RCA) to HDMI converter and from there to a TV which does not have RCA inputs. Will this cable work from RCA source to 3.5mm output? In other words, are they bidirectional?

BEST ANSWER: It’s a simple cable with no active components- electrons don’t care which end is which.
So in simple terms, yes this will work either direction provided the signal levels are appropriate

How do I stop the hum? I've moved this from the AUX to the VCR to the CD input on my receiver and get a noticeable hum no matter which input I use. Suggestions?

BEST ANSWER: I know, 11 months later... When you get a hum connecting audio equipment together, it is frequently a grounding/ground loop issue. To minimize this, make sure to plug everything into the same circuit/outlet - power bars are safe for this unless you have some crazy high wattage amp + sub setup. You may also want to have a qualified electrician check to make sure the ground connectors in your outlets are actually connected, and the hot and neutral lines aren't reversed - both common problems that can cause hum, and are serious safety issues.

It works
Used to connect my laptop audio (via displayport through a monitor) to monoprice MP43240 speakers. Sound seems ok and it performs the task required.
The one issue is that the 3.5mm jack is quite bulky and a tight squeeze to connect. Hoping that's because it's shielded coax right up to the jack

Very good, sound great
Very good, clean audio signal. Previous reviewer commented about size of ends being a little too thick, too close together. Cables are of high quality. But the main thing is that they are excellent sounding and they function properly.
