20ft Premium 3.5mm Stereo Male to 3.5mm Stereo Female 22AWG Extension Cable (Gold Plated) - Black

The 3.5mm (1/8") stereo TRS connector is more commonly known as the Headphone Jack on portable mp3 players and mobile phones. This cable features a male 3.5mm stereo (TRS) plug on one end and a female 3.5mm stereo jack on the other end, each with molded connector housings and strain relief boots. Each connector is gold-plated to ensure smooth, corrosion-free connections.

The cable is made of heavy-duty coaxial cable for each conductor. The conductors are 22AWG and each conductor is shield to prevent EMI or RFI interference from entering your audio system. The cable is 12mm x 6mm thick, while the connector housings are 41mm long x 15mm diameter.

Because of their size and weight these cables are best suited for more permanent connections, such as from your PC to your sound system. If you want something more suitable for portable applications, please try one of our standard 3.5mm audio cables.

PROS: Definitely heavy-duty, premium cables. 20 ft cable probably weighs over a pound.

CONS: As others have noted, a bit over-kill for what I needed. Just wanted to listen to my big-screen TV from my couch without waking up the wife after hours. I feel kinda silly plugging my earbuds into these, but they do perform as advertised and do the job!

    Well built headphone extension
This is a heavy cable. It's very well built. I bought it to use with earphones but found that it was too heavy. It will still work as an extension with headphones. Now I can watch Formula 1 on TV with the volume at a reasonable level and not bother anyone who is sleeping.

    THE BEST
I purchased Hosa cables originally, which cost more than these. The connectors don't hold anymore, and the cables were thin. Not only are these about 2x the thickness, that's just for one channel!!! These are made with not one, but two coax cables and very nice connectors. I already use Monoprice cables for my home A/V, but will be converting my studio as well.

As always, the best cables from the other guys aren't as good as Monoprice's standard cables. As for the premium cables, I have never seen a headphone cable this nice and I am an audiophile.

    Excellent for silent T.V.!!
I thought that this cable was just going to be a typical everyday cable, yet it turned out to be a piece of high grade professional quality equipment. I am not a professional audio engineer or anything like that mind you, I just wanted to be able to listen to movies or music at a really good volume at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning. I live in an apartment so the noise issue is especially important to me. These cables are very high in quality, allow me to enjoy my entertainment at night without disturbing anyone around me, and the price is the fairest I have found anywhere. great product, and I am completely satisfied.

    Mongo cable!
Using this cable to connect a computer sound card output to my Denon amp across the room, in conjunction with another cable on this order. I was worried about signal loss over the 20 foot distance. Then I saw the diameter of this cable when it arrived... huge! I have never seen an audio cable so thick, including the fantastically overpriced brands. Hooked it up and am now enjoying crystal clarity and wide dynamic range listening to Pandora, Rhapsody, BBC Radio, and other internet sources. Highly recommended!

    Robust
These things are built like brick out house.

    PROS: Cables are very durable.

CONS: These cables are thick and heavy which does not lend themselves well to a headphone extension. I should have ordered "a lower grade" as did not understand the difference.

    Good but heavy
This is a high quality cable but be prepared for a fairly heavy, stiff cable. It's much heavier than the thin cables that come with a typical set of earbuds. Having said that, I knew from other cable review on Monoprice that mine would likely be heavy also. Still satisfied with my purchase.

I purchased this to replace a thinner gauge extension cable that had failed unexpectedly. This time I tried the premium line of extension cable.

I use this to plug my headphones into the home stereo, and since it sits on a shelf about 4 feet off the ground, the extra weight of the cable can be an issue on the stereo connector if it's not balanced. Otherwise it works great so far.

    PROS: Solid build quality

CONS: Can stress the connector when plugged in due to its weight

Cable too thick for my use
I was looking for a typical lightweight stereo extension cable. What I got was a heavy gauge, thick insulation cable not suitable for my use. Maybe it was my own fault because I don't know if 22AWG is standard or not. If someone wants a heavy duty, industrial looking cable this would be perfect.

First the cable is very good quality.
Second the cable is huge and heavy and not useful for much of anything.
The price fooled me into thinking these were just high quality normal 3.5mm extension cables, which they are not. These would be something I would expect to see in a HiFi speciality shop selling for what ever the owners conscience could bear.
I bought several of these cables in different lengths with the intention of using them as extensions for connecting phone, iPod, Ipad, and headphones to various gear.
While the cable is very flexible it is much to heavy to be plugging into a 3.5mm jack.
The cable is a molded twin lead design with the insulation for each lead being about the diameter of the average computer AC power cord.
Each end terminates into a heavy duty molded connector appropriately sized to match the girth and weight of the rest of the cable.
